These Boots Were Made For Sweating

Especially in the blistering SoCal heat
Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Vicki B. stepped out to do a bit of shopping at The Grove earlier this week with a stylist friend and only her middle child (the sweet one) along for the trip … and for some ungodly reason, VB thought it would be a good idea to let her son, Romeo Beckham, venture out in public wearing a pair of sheepskin lined UGGs boots in the sweltering summer heat, behold:

Stiletto aficionado Victoria Beckham once criticised Americans for their love of comfy Ugg boots. But it seems her son doesn’t share her disdain. Romeo, 5, was spotted kicking around LA in sheepskin shoes while on a shopping trip with Posh. The middle Beckham boy followed his mother - and her stylist - as she trawled for new outfits in a range of stores, including Abercrombie & Fitch. Before moving to LA, she said she was unimpressed with the Stateside approach to fashion. Victoria, who is currently working on a new collection of high-end frocks, said at the time: “They dress down quite a lot here, don’t they? It seems to be in keeping to go to Starbucks in tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots.” And while she has stayed true to her over-styled look, her family has certainly embraced all-American living. As well as fashion, the Beckham boys now also share the US obsession with basketball, and are regulars at LA Lakers games along with their father David. The former Spice Girl has previously said her family has no plans to return to Britain. She says: “We’ve loved every minute so far. I can’t see us going back.”

UHHHH … I don’t even know quite what to say. UGGs boots are a travesty overall (comfy, I know but really unattractive) but to wear them in the summer heat … what ever was dear little Romeo thinking? That boy needs to get a better handle on his fashion choices tout suite before someone comes along and scratches his eyes out!

Christian Bale Does British ‘GQ’, Mexican ‘Rolling Stone’

Also sits for a moody photoshoot
Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Batman: The Dark Knight star Christian Bale is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issues of British GQ magazine and Mexican Rolling Stone magazine. With all the hype surrounding the release of The Dark Knight reaching a fever pitch, these are but the latest magazines to feature the actor on their covers. Here is Christian’s full GQ photospread:

It’s a sexy yet dapper shoot. I don’t ever understand the shiny face thing that some photoshoots call for but I guess it does add a bit of harshness to the photos. Christian looks damn good in his suit but I must confess that I think I prefer him out of the suit even more.

Here is the cover of the new issue of the Mexican version of Rolling Stone magazine:

The cover is simple yet striking. The dichotomy play works really well, especially when you consider that The Joker isn’t the only bad guy we’ll get to see in The Dark Knight. The emergence of Two Face is bound to add to the awesomeness.

After the jump, check out a few photos of Christian lookin’ moody as hell at a press conference photoshoot for the movie which took place here in SoCal recently … (more…)

Free To Be Me

The TV Guide
Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Welp, another Independence Day came and went and I’m afraid I didn’t make much of the holiday. Before yesterday, there was talk of pool parties, dinners and general get-togethers with friends but in the end the day was pretty much me + couch + TV + books + magazines + video games + pillow. Hahahaha, I can’t even front … I prolly spent 80% of the entire day on the couch. And you know what, that’s just fine with me. I’ve been running around like crazy the past couple of weeks so I think I was due some downtime. Sure, I could’ve salvaged some part of the day but you know how it goes … once the laziness overtakes you, it’s kinda hard to rebound.

Today, tho, I have to get out and enjoy the sunshine … I’m not sure what I’m gonna be doing but I hope to be doing something. I do plan on staying away from the evil couch … as relaxing as yesterday was for me, I wouldn’t want a repeat of yesterday’s veg-fest :)

Madonna And Guy Have Faith In Each Other

He can stand under her Kabbalah - alah - alah - ay - ay - ay
Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Last weekend, we saw photos of Madonna making her way to services at the Kabbalah Centre in NYC with her kids but without her husband Guy Ritchie (who was reportedly attending Kabbalah services in London on his own at the same time) and this weekend we get to see pics of the happy (?) couple attending services together again:

I dunno why Maddy looks like she just got dragged out of the bathtub but I can understand her desire to recenter herself with her husband at her place of worship after the tumultuous week they endured together. All the rampant rumors about their marriage must’ve been a strain on the both of them and it’s encouraging to see them soldier thru it all and remain steadfast together. I admit, I don’t know much about the teachings of Kabbalah (tho, I am reading up on them) but I hope that Madonna and Guy are able to find the strength they need to endure and survive as a couple. I really like them together, I want to see them succeed :)
