BFFs Lance Bass and Kathy Griffin got all hot and heavy with one another on the red carpet at the 944 LA 2nd Anniversary Party/ MTV Official VMA Party at The Kress in Hollywood, CA last night … take a look:

You know, these two would make a really cute couple if Lance wasn’t totally into dudes … despite the fact that Kathy Griffin kinda looks like a dude. I keed, I keed … it’s great to see these two friends together in any situation. As far as I can tell, Lance is still cuddling up to his most current boyfriend Sebastian Leal. The pair spent some time together in Puerto Rico last week (they were spotted together at the El San Juan Hotel and Casino for an event there) so I think that everything is A-OK for the lovebirds … but it must be a comfort for Lance to know that he can always run to the warm bosom of Kathy if ever he should find himself manless.

A story starting making the rounds yesterday that Jamie Lynn Spears sent a gift of support to Bristol Palin, the 5-months pregs daughter of Gov. Sarah Palin (who is currently running for Vice President of the US) in order show some semblance of solidarity between the unwed, pregs teens:

Jamie Lynn Spears wants Bristol Palin to know she’s not alone in the unwed teen mom spotlight - so she’s sent a care package of fancy embroidered burp cloths to the 17-year-old pregnant daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. “Dear Bristol: Hang in there!!!!! XXOO,” the supportive card from the “Zoey 101″ star read, underscoring the challenges she too has faced. The younger sister to Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn, 17, gave birth to Maddie Briann Aldridge in June and is engaged to hometown hunk Casey Aldridge, just as Bristol Palin is set to wed her babydaddy Levi Johnston. “She wanted it in pink. I’m assuming the two have spoken, and she knows it’s a girl,” a spokesman for Petit Tresor, the West Hollywood shop that took the order told the Daily News. “We’re sending it to the (Alaska) state capital,” the Tresor rep said. The spokesman said Jamie Lynn’s mom Lynne Spears actually made the call for Jamie Lynn and used a Spears credit card. Packaged in a mini pink suitcase, the $60 set of five coordinating burp cloths from Plain Mary are embroidered with “Babe,” “Loved,” “Yummy,” “Fresh,” and a skull & bones image.

It turns out that the story is absolutely untrue and totally fabricated, Mama Lynne Spears denies that JL never sent any sort of gift to Bristol Palin:

Lynne Spears is denying a widespread Internet report that her 17-year-old daughter Jamie Lynn — who gave birth in June — has sent gifts to pregnant 17-year-old Bristol Palin. Reports surfaced this week that Jamie-Lynn mailed the daughter of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin $60 pink burp cloths from L.A. baby boutique Petit Tresor. A store rep even told ABC News that Spears included a card with the package: “Dear Bristol, Hang in there! XXOO, Jamie Lynn Spears.” But a Spears rep tells E! News: “I just got off the phone with Lynne. I can tell you that she hasn’t sent her any gifts, but that she does support Sarah and, of course, can empathize with their situation.”

I don’t know what is sadder, the fact that a story like this was completely made up to presumably win publicity for Petit Tresor or that the story could’ve actually had been true. LOL.

Gavin Rossdale took some time out of his bizzy daddy schedule to spend some alone time yesterday afternoon hitting around a few balls on the tennis court. Oh yeah, and he did so shirtless:

Granted, he isn’t the hottest hunk of beef in Hollywood but there is a certain sexy charm about him that I quite like. He’s a devoted husband, a great dad and, apparently, a tennis fan — what’s not to love?

Tho, I’m getting anxious waiting around for Gwen Stefani and the new baby to make their reappearance … hopefully it’ll happen soon.

The official Nine Inch Nails website has undergone a pretty significant upgrade that now allows users to create online profiles, communicate with one another in official forums and other such fun website-y stuff … and Trent Reznor wants you to know all about it. Here is a pic of Trent backstage at the Red Rocks venue in Colorado last week possibly putting together his new NIN.com online profile and a message from him about the new site developments:

“Welcome to the beginning of the new nin.com! There’s a lot of new stuff here we’ve been working on for quite some time and MUCH more coming over the next few weeks. We’re aiming to create the ultimate community and resource for all things related to nine inch nails. Actually, this latest development isn’t the first time that NIN.com has offered interactivity. Up until a few months ago, the site did offer an online community where users could do all of these same things but it was only available to paying members of The Spiral, the official NIN fanclub. In concert with Trent’s new found love of giving things away for free (like the new NIN album The Slip which you can download free of charge HERE), he has decided to give away the online interactivity formerly enjoyed solely by NIN fanclub members for free. And this is why Trent Reznor totally rules. I am VERY excited about this Saturday’s NIN show at The Forum in Inglewood, CA (you have no idea!) … it will be the last show of the first leg of the Lights in the Sky Over North America Tour before the band heads down to South America and Mexico. The band will be coming back to the US for the second leg of the tour … I’m already planning which of those shows I’m gonna try and attend. It’s really great being a NIN fan right now :)

Beyoncé Knowles is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new UK issue of Marie Claire magazine … in her coverstory interview, Ms. B confesses that she wants to outlive the pop star shelf life and transition into legendhood. Yeah, good luck with that Miss Thang:

Forget mere celebrity. Beyoncé says she aspires to icon status. “There is a time limit on being a pop star, yes,” the Grammy-winning singer tells the October issue of Marie Claire’s U.K. edition. “Being a legend, an icon? Absolutely not.” “I’m over being a pop star,” Beyoncé, 26, adds. “I don’t wanna be a hot girl – I wanna be iconic.” Still, she admits to being frustrated with the demands of her career: “There are responsibilities that come along with this life … trying to have a romantic meal without someone sneaking in to film the whole thing,” says Beyoncé, who married Jay-Z in April. “I have to work really hard and it’s fine because I like it, I love it, but it’s a lot of sacrifice.” Acknowledging the challenges of being a minority in Hollywood, Beyoncé gives a nod to her own role models: “I think I’m opening doors for more black women, just like Halle Berry and Diana Ross opened doors for me.” The singer also expressed a sense of excitement for the political future. Shannen Doherty ain’t look all that hot in the unforgiving SoCal sun … actually, only Lori Loughlin looks like she’s ready for the cameras (little whipper-snappers AnnaLynne McCord and Shanae Grimes need to step up their respective games, yo).
