Miley Cyrus & Justin Gaston Do The BMI Country Awards
15-year old Miley Cyrus and her 20-year old manfriend and underwear model Justin Gaston attended the 56th Annual BMI Country Awards at the BMI Building in Nashville, TN last night … and while Miley was not on hand to collect any awards, she was on hand to show off her hawt date — behold:
I mean, who needs a stupid BMI Award when you get to go home (or wherever) with a hawt piece like Mr. Gaston? That being said, don’t y’all think he looks a lot older in this pic? I mean, Miley is really trying to look more mature with this dark eye make-up but Justin kinda looks like … her dad? By that I don’t mean that he looks like her actual dad, Billy Ray Cyrus (he wishes), but like a daddy-like figure. He does have a killer smile, tho … and is SO wrong for her, I think. I’m still not on board the Jiley train … are you?

I think we all had inappropriate older crushes when we were her age. The difference is, most of us didn’t have international draw to help us actually get noticed by them and reel them in. And most of our crushes weren’t inappropriate enough to actually GO for it. As cute as they look together, it is still illegal in most states! Nasty nasty….

I’m going to be the odd-man-out here and venture to say they make a cute couple. I know he’s a lot older than her, but so far, they seem pretty innocent together. I say good for them and I’m not creeped out by it.
Now if things started escalating…there’d definitely be an issue! They both look very happy, though.

I have to agree when I say I’m not too creeped out by it… I just think it’s more socially acceptable the older you get. And it all has to do with her being under 18… but if she was 18 and he was 23 would it be this big of a deal? People care way too much about age. But he is cute ;)

but see thats the thing, shes not 18. Shes 15…or is she 16 now? Does it really matter? Shes a CHILD and hes an ADULT.
What i just cant seem to undertsand is how people think this is ok. She sure doesnt seem to have a very high maturity level so i cant imagine a 20 year old being in a relationship with her and not feeling incredibly awkward and uncomfortable.
Which creeps me out even more, because it obviously doesnt bother him or her parents.
Its disgusting, and theres nothing ok about it.

I don’t understand how you can say she doesn’t seem mature. What are you basing that off? I mean, nobody really knows how mature she is personally. We can’t really judge her.

I really do think that Justin looks like her dad. That’s spooky and kinda demented. Makes you wonder why she’s with someone that resembles her daddy so much, and even more so of why daddy is allowing it.

though their relationship is probably harmless, it does look bad that she’s underage and there’s a significant age difference between the two of them.

I thought that too the first time I saw the pic! Not that it looks like Billy Ray but like her dad. I think this guy is getting everything he wanted: attention from the country music industry, cuz isnt he trying to be a country singer and who better then the most loved/hated disney star to put your name in the papers. I dont know that these two are in a relationship but I bet they both love the attention who wouldnt?

Eh, I don’t know if you look at it one way (like you know the LEGAL way) it’s not only illegial but it is sort of wierd for a 16 yr old and a 20 yr old to be whatever-it-is-they-are-trying-to-hide. On the other hand I knew a lot of girls and guys in college who were 17yr-21yr and together. It is what it is I guess. She and her parents and Justin from what they are all claiming are saying that neither of them plans on having sex until marriage. Her parents seem to like him AND have a handle (of some sort) on the relationship. I say let them be happy. There are lots of other Hollywood couples rocking a bigger age gap than that one!

He really does look like a dad in that picture. I find the whole relationship really creepy. I’m 20 years old and I would never date someone who was on the cusp of 16, and I have never found myself even attracted to someone that age - they just look too young, let alone ARE that young and ACT that young! Something is totally wrong with Miley’s parents if they’re letting her date this guy, even if he is a sweetheart. I would never let my child date someone in their 20s at that age.

I honestly don’t think this is a big deal. I don’t know them and assume I would not like them, to be quite honest. But this is well within the ‘margin of error’ in terms of dating. Yeah, he is older than she, but Elvis was 25 when Priscila was 15 (when they started dating) and no one gives him a hard time about it. Daniel Radcliffe had a 23 year old gf when he was 15 — again, no one says anything. When I was 20 I had a girl-who-was-a-friend who was 15; I didn’t persue her romantically for several reasons, but I don’t think it necessarily would have been a trainwreck.
For all you legal analysts out there, in CA it is illegal to have sex with a girl under 18, period. So if you are a 16 year old guy and have sex with your 17 year old girlfriend, YOU have commited a crime. (cite: In Re Michael M.) There is a seperate law which Justin may or may not be breaking, as well, depending upon the physicality of their relationship. But, honestly, these laws are never enforced when the relationship is within about six years and is obviously consensual and approved of by the parents. And when Miley becomes 16, it will be, “Oh, 16 and 20, that is nothing.” FWIW: everywhere in the developed world outside a few states in the U.S., the age of consent is 16 or younger (except Ireland and North Ireland where it is 17.) And it is 16 in most US states, as well — just not CA.

thank you “a” for the facts….
i was 16 and had a 20 year old “friend” at the time. we hung out and talked all the time….and he was a great guy who never pressured me into anything more…i mean i know we both had those feelings for eachother and we both wanted a relationship but becasue of my age we were able to WAIT. some people do have self control…which i am sure miley and justin have. they both seem like they enjoy eachother and hanging out….let them be. its really not that bad…im sure she’s a lot more mature then a LOT of other 15 - 16 year olds. She has to be pretty responsible and accountable to be as successful as she is…lets try and give her some credit.
