‘Watchmen’ Promises The Animated P33N
The big screen adaptation of Watchmen won’t hit theaters until March of 2009 but fans of the graphic novel are already chomping at the bit for any new info about the film leading up to its release next Spring. Defamer, ever the industrious sniffer-outer of the nekkidness, noted at the new HD trailer for Watchmen (which debuted at MTV.com last month) offers a quick glimpse of the Dr. Manhattan character — full frontal p33n and all. Fans of the Watchmen graphic novel are well aware that the atomic superhero Dr. Manhattan appears fully nude in the graphic novel … and they can rest assured that the good Doctor’s graphic nekkidness will be on full display when the movie hits theaters next year:
In the film, Dr. Manhattan is played by Billy Crudup but we have no way of knowing if the blue CGI p33n on display in the film is actually based on Billy’s manhood or if it is merely the work of inventive animators … I guess only a few people, ex-girlfriend Claire Danes included, will know for sure. I added an image from the Watchmen graphic novel for comparison … and yep, looks like an animated penis to me. Altho the movie will only be providing a CGI penis in the film, I think it’s still a pretty big step to feature male full-frontal nudity at all. I’m pleased to know that the filmmakers want to keep the integrity of the original graphic novel intact for the movie version. One small step for p33n, is one giant step for mankind.

i’ve never heard of watchmen, but what the heck is that chick doing in the background? i can’t decide if it looks like she has to use the bathroom or if she is really turned on by dr. manhattan

Watchmen is a graphic novel from the 80s that’s been called the “Citizen Kane of comic books. It’s set in a 1985 where superheroes have been around since the ’30s, altering history (Nixon’s still president in ‘85, for example). One of the heroes is murdered, and his former colleagues (mostly retired or working for the government) start to think there’s a conspiracy afoot, perhaps linked to impending nuclear war with the USSR.
The comic twists the idea of our “standard” superheroes (Batman, Superman, Captain Atom) by showing them as complicated, flawed human beings. It’s really amazing; I’m hoping the movie adaptation does it justice.
The gal in the picture is going to throw up; that happens whenever Dr. Manhattan transports her anywhere. It makes sense when you read the book. ;)

Pretty pathetic that this movie has to stoop to this level. How about showing a vagina in a movie for once.
