Blake Fielder-Civil Sentenced To 27 Months In Prison

Perverting justice is serious biz
July 21st, 2008

Amy Wineshouse’s hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil, who has been incarcerated for the last 9 months was sentenced today to serve a total of 27 months in prison for first assaulting a man and then attempting to pervert justice by trying to bribe the man to evade prosecution for his crime. I understand that Amy was not in the courthouse to lend her support today despite her constant pleas for her husband’s release. Here is Blake’s mugshot, released today, and a rundown of his sentencing:

Amy Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has been jailed for 27 months for beating up a pub landlord and trying to bribe him to avoid court. Fielder-Civil, 26, pleaded guilty last month to assaulting James King with a friend, Michael Brown, and perverting the course of justice by attempting to bribe the victim. With Brown and two other men, Fielder-Civil tried to pay off Mr King in an attempt to have the trial abandoned. Judge David Radford told Fielder-Civil he had behaved in a “gratuitous, cowardly and disgraceful” way. Fielder-Civil has already served around nine months on remand so he could be free in four-and-a-half months if he behaves himself in prison. Winehouse herself was not in court to support her husband as he was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court, in east London for trying to evade jail for attacking a pub landlord. Jocelyn Ledwood, prosecuting, had told the court that Brown was kicked out of the Macbeth pub in Hoxton, on June 20 2006 and returned with Fielder-Civil at closing time. Brown punched Mr King, 36, in the face, knocking him to the floor. She went on: “Mr Brown and Mr Fielder-Civil then proceeded to punch and kick him while he was on the ground trapped between the double doors of the pub.” The assault left Mr King with a broken nose and cheekbone and the pair were arrested and due to go on trial when Fielder-Civil received a text message saying: “What happened at court? We were thinking about getting Amy to pay (him) off.” The trial was delayed and Anthony Kelly, 26, and James Kennedy, 20, were engaged to broker the pay-off, the court heard. Kelly and Kennedy then tried to sell footage of the incident to a newspaper reporter who was told Mr King would be paid off with £200,000 and that “ultimately the money would come from Miss Winehouse”. Jeremy Dein QC, for Fielder-Civil, urged the judge to suspend his sentence or sentence him to the nine months he has already served. He said Fielder-Civil “was of exemplary good character”. He went on: “This has been a nightmare scenario, not just for him but for his wife and his family.” He was interrupted by Judge David Radford, who said: “No previous convictions rather than exemplary good character, if what I read about him and the use of drugs is true.”

LOL! Yeah, it sounds like the judge in this case wasn’t really interested in hearing any bullshizz from Blake’s attorney. Alas, it appears that poor Amy Winehouse will have to endure the coming months without her husband by her side. She’s managed to make it 9 months without him, I’m sure he’ll manage the rest of the way just fine.

What a LOSER! First to kick a man when he’s already down (and basically defenseless) and then to expect your wife to pay for the bribe??? Moron! I hope he gets the shizz kicked out of him in prison. Hell, who cares, right? You know he and Amy will both prolly be dead within a year of his release.
