Britney Spears + MTV VMAs = Take Two
MTV may be keeping mum on whether or not Britney Spears will take to the stage and perform at next month’s 2008 MTV Video Music Awards but they are happily letting the world know that Brit Brit is appearing in the new promo campaign for the awards show. Here is our first look at a new promo pic for this year’s VMAs which features Britney Spears, VMAs host Russell Brand and a 900 lb. elephant in the room:
She’s (almost) back! A year after her embarrassing performance at the Video Music Awards , Britney Spears returned to the MTV stage this week to tape a promotional video for this year’s ceremony. “Britney looked really good,” says a source. “It was improvisational questions and answers with [host] Russell Brand just like [other promo guest stars] LL Cool J and Pete Wentz did. Russell joked about there being sexual tension, and Britney shot back, ‘I don’t feel the tension’. The other joke was about no one knowing who Russell was so she called him by the wrong name. LL called him Russell Bland and Britney called him Russell Brown.” The shoot also included a 9,000 pound elephant. Says the source, “The joke of the whole thing is ‘there is an elephant in the room’.” While the network cannot confirm whether Spears will appear on the show airing on Sept. 7, Spears’s promo appearance is a promising sign. The singer, who has been nominated 17 times, has yet to walk away with a win and is nominated for two this year. She is up for best female video and best pop video.
OMG! She is SOOOO gonna be there. And she is SOOOO gonna kick ass this year, I just know it. I had the misfortune to bear witness to Britney’s disastrous performance inside the Pearl Theater at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV for the VMAs last year and remember how disappointed everyone (including me) was … but this year, I just know it, she’s gonna undo all of that negativity. I can feel it in me bones, she is gonna have a huge comeback this time … I know it, I know it, I know it. Just wait and see …

on the radio an LA source said shes taking dance lessons now at BALLY TOTAL FITNESS. perhaps to prepare for the show?!

You go girl! I am so impressed with how Britney has pulled herself together. I can’t believe more hasn’t been said about the fact that she was literally being DRUGGED by that guy who was pretending to be her manager and as soon as he was cut out of her life, she miraculously got better. I give plenty of credit to her dad too but the poor thing must have been through quite an ordeal between that and postpartum depression and I think she deserves some major snaps for coming out of it on top. She is a survivor for sure.

Everyone thought Britney was gonna “kick ass” last time and look what happened. I’m skeptical she can even come close to her former glory, but we’ll see.

Trent, I SO hope you’re right. I’d love to see Britney have a huge comeback. She’s way overdue and, I agree, she looks incredible. She’s certainly on the right track these days.

I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but you said the same exact thing a year ago this time….
Anyway, I will stick to my guns and say that the girl should focus on retaining her health and mental well-being, get her kids back under her roof full-time, and be a MOM for a while….then she can come around and give us a comeback that may or may not even work.

This year will be different, she’s gonna kick ass, last year she was partying all day-night-long, out everywhere, going to starbucks etc… she wasn’t even in the promo for the vma’s, now she’s everywhere, events, promos, tv shows, and recording her album, going to the gym, and just about everywhere a star should be, she’s sooooo gonna kick ass this year, i’m rooting for her, love her no matter what, and Oh emm gee i can’t cait…

Omg im so freakin happy britt is having a chance at another comeback. Her first preformance was awful but she was really unprepared. We all know what she can do when she has practiced so give her a break and root her on!come on,shell pull through. She is britney spears after all!

All she has to do is have someone do her hair and make up, wear clothes that cover everything like in this picture, and sing a ballad or something and she will EASILY outdo last year… dont do any crazy dances and over lipsynching it!!!
