Last month we heard about an alleged altercation that took place between Sharon Osbourne (wife of the self-professed Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne and host of VH1’s reality TV show Rock of Love: Charm School) and Megan Hauserman (all-around VH1 reality TV fame whore) during the pre-taped Rock of Love: Charm School Reunion Special. At the time, Hauserman (who was wearing an arm sling at the time) informed TMZ that Osbourne had “attacked” her and later provided photos of wounds on Megan’s head that were allegedly caused by Sharon. I was appalled that VH1 would allow such an “attack” to take place under their supervision and was aghast that the network still planned to air the “attack” on national TV. Last night, the Charm School Reunion Special did air and well … from what I saw, things did not go down exactly like Megan claimed they did. Basically, Sharon made a snide comment about Megan and how she should never procreate (taking her bows after the audience erupted in raucous cheers) and Megan retaliated by saying something nasty about Ozzy Osbourne (it sounded like she alluded to Sharon having to clean up Ozzy’s waste because he is unable to do it for himself or something like that). Now that the biz of selecting a new director for the Twilight movie sequel has been settled, the next step is to go about the biz of casting New Moon. With a new director comes the feasibility that character roles may be recast and actors who were hired to play a role in one movie may be axed from playing that same role in the next movie. Specifically, the role of Jacob Black — who undergoes a lot of change from Twilight to New Moon and plays a very significant role in the sequel — is, apparently, up for grabs as new chatter suggests that Taylor Lautner (the actor who portrayed the young Jacob in Twilight) may be replaced by a different actor. Enter Michael Copon, a beefy-looking actor best known from the film Scorpion King 2, who is said to be up for the role of Jacob Black which would thereby leave Lautner out in the cold. Additionally, Ben Barnes (who played Prince Caspian in the Chronicles of Narnia sequel) is said to be interested in playing a member of the powerful vampire “family” the Volturi. It sounds like production on New Moon is already getting into full swing and these decisions are likely to be made very soon:

Following last week’s dismissal and replacement of Catherine Hardwicke, this weekend began with a press release from Summit Entertainment officially appointing “New Moon” director Chris Weitz to the job. Suspicious in its omission of Taylor Lautner, the release seemed to all but confirm Twilighter whispers that Hardwicke won’t be the last “Twilight” talent replaced before the sequel. So where does the series go from here? MTV News can confirm that 26-year-old “Scorpion King 2″ actor Michael Copon [pronounced "COPE-on"] is one of several actors Weitz is considering to play the new, larger Jacob Black. A representative for Copon told us that they’re making a full effort to land the high-profile gig. And in a bit of 21st-century self-publicity, the actor has even recently updated his Facebook status with messages like: “Michael Copon [is] in a Twilight Zone!” and “Michael Copon is the older Jacob Black!” Copon’s representative confirmed to MTV News that the Facebook page is run by the actor himself and that those are indeed his words. Approached for comment on Lautner’s omission from the “New Moon” press release, Summit confirmed that it was not a typographical error. “The casting decision in regards to the character Jacob Black has yet to be made,” a representative told MTV News.

But even once Copon (or whoever else) is officially announced as the new Jacob, Weitz still has many other key casting decisions to make and an extremely brief amount of time in which to make them. With barely 12 weeks until cameras are due to begin rolling, the “Golden Compass” filmmaker needs to find faces to portray several key characters — including the peace-keeping, Italian vampires known as the Volturi. With the buzz building for these roles, MTV News has confirmed that 27-year-old “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” heartthrob Ben Barnes is throwing his hat into the ring. The actor is already quite popular with the “Twilight” fanbase and shares the same manager as both Copon and “Twilight” star Cam Gigandet. Barnes is believed to be campaigning for the role of Aro, a mind-reading vampire whose “New Moon” encounter with Edward and Bella helps shape their destiny together.

I mean, I get that sometimes characters have to be recast but something about giving Taylor Lautner the shaft and bringing in a new person kinda irks me. I really think that Taylor can do the job of playing Jacob in New Moon and I would love to see him be allowed to continue playing the part. That being said, I think his Michael Copon guy looks like he would make a pretty good older Jacob Black — in fact, he looks very much like an older and muscly version of Taylor Lautner himself. I would bet money that Ben Barnes will get the role of Aro and I’m sure we’ll be hearing very soon who else is up for playing other Volturi characters. New Moon is still about a year away from hitting theaters and the drama is already in full swing. What do y’all think … should Copon be cast as the new Jacob? Do y’all think that his Facebook announcement is pretty much proof that he already got the part?

Xtina Aguilera talks to the LA Times about her new Greatest Hits compilation Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits (which went on sale today exclusively in Target stores) and manages to talk about all the usual stuff (you know, all the Blah Blah Blah). Then the question about Lady Gaga comes up and the claims that she has been “copying” Gaga’s style and look … to which Xtina responds …

What do you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look?

You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.

To be honest, I first thought that Lady Gaga was a man as well … she tends to hide behind big sunglasses and covers her head up with cowls — I guess I, too, assumed she was a drag queen. I now know that she is a real girl but, I guess I can’t fault Xtina for thinking the same thing that I thought. Who knows how Gaga will respond to this quote from Xtina but we may be witnessing the birth of a new celebrity feud, y’all. Pick your side now — Team Xtina or Team Gaga?

Lauren LC Conrad debuted her new Spring/Summer 2009 fashion collection at Smashbox Studios at LA Fashion Week last night (you may recall we got a preview of her collection yesterday afternoon) and decided to head out to STK restaurant to celebrate afterward. Coincidentally, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt — her avowed nemeses (or is it nemesises?) — were also dining at STK at the same time. After emerging from the restaurant, Speidi spoke to Extra TV and publicly gave their congratulations to LC on her new collection with Heidi adding, “I love Lauren”:

Frenemies Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag kiss and make up — and “Extra” made it happen! The “Hills” starlets ran into each other at STK, where “Extra” was with Conrad at the exclusive after-party for her fashion show — when nemesis Heidi and beau Spencer Pratt suddenly showed up! Speidi tells “Extra” they were unaware of Conrad’s party and were just stopping in for a drink on their break from shooting “The Hills” down the street. When Montag saw Conrad arrive, “Extra” witnessed the former BFFs exchanging a polite “Hi” before Lauren went into her separate party room. At the fashion bash, L.C. revealed to “Extra” that Heidi was “cool” — and “it was no problem she was there” just as long as Spencer didn’t cause any trouble. Heidi then pulled an “Extra” producer aside to say she wanted to chat with her old roommate — and “Extra” brought them together! The girls chatted for a moment — then both suddenly burst into tears and HUGGED! After the tearful reunion, Heidi personally thanked “Extra” for arranging the impromptu meeting, and said of Lauren’s clothing, “It’s a great line and I love Lauren, so congratulations.” Even Spencer expressed his support of Conrad, saying, “Congratulations, L.C.”

Say what? I find it so interesting that we, the TV viewing audience, are shown one thing on The Hills (ie. Spencer Pratt’s venomous ire for his enemy LC) and then in real life we see something very different. Click HERE to watch video of Speidi offering their congrats to LC. HMMM. Woot! The 4th season of The Hills debuts tonight on MTV at 10pm and there promises to be a whole lotta drama to come … but first up, Heidi Montag has a little something she wants you to hear first:

To coincide with tonight’s season 4 premiere of The Hills, Heidi Montag has released a new single. “Overdosin’” is about “when you fall in love with someone… and [you're] just overdosing off of their love,” she said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM morning show. The song’s chorus is a repetition of “I can’t get enough of you.”

Heidi and Spencer Pratt tell Extra TV that they are deffo planning to be married on TV and that they have no intention of leaving The Hills before the show ends its run:

Reality TV’s most talked about couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, breaks the big news to “Extra” that they’re planning to get married on live on TV! Montag tells “Extra,” “I’m just waiting for that big ring.” Montag also reveals there could be baby Speidis in the future, saying “I want kids … eventually.” This weekend, The Hills co-star, Audrina Patridge, opened up about her frosty relationship with Montag, saying, “You know, I don’t have a problem with her … That’s between her and Lauren [Conrad].” On set, “Extra” played Patridge’s comments for Montag, who revealed she has no ill feelings toward Patridge, saying, “We hang out. We’re friends … I love Audrina.” As for any rumors that Heidi is leaving The Hills, she responds, “No, where would I go?”

Lauren LC Conrad, the show’s star, on the other hand tells the New York Post that The Hills is “definitely reaching its end”, telling the newspaper:

The show is definitely reaching its end. It’s been so amazing and I’ve loved most of it, but I think there is going to come a time where I need to live my life for myself and not in front of viewers. I’m young and having fun with it now, but it’s not something I am going to be able to do forever, obviously.
