Amy Winehouse Hospitalized, Yet Again

Umpteenth millionth time
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Don’t try and fall out of your chair or anything but I’ve got some breaking news to report this AM … Amy Winehouse has been hospitalized … for a drug related matter:

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been admitted to a London hospital after suffering a bad reaction to medication, her representative said Tuesday. Winehouse, 25, went to the private London Clinic on Sunday, said her spokesman, Chris Goodman. He said Winehouse’s medication made her ill and her doctors asked her to come in so they could investigate. Goodman did not disclose what type of medication was involved, saying only it is part of her “ongoing treatment.” It was not clear Tuesday whether she had been discharged. Yesterday Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil lost his appeal against his 27-month jail term for assault and perverting the course of justice. Earlier this month he was moved from prison to a drug rehabilitation unit. The Grammy-winning Winehouse has suffered a string of health problems in recent years, many related to her battles with drug addiction. She spent two weeks in a drug rehabilitation clinic in January … Another bad reaction to medication prompted Winehouse to enter a London hospital in July, but she was discharged the next day.

Uh huh. A “bad reaction” to “medication” that she has been taking as part of her “on-going treatment”. Sounds like code words for bullshizz to me. Oh Amy, please don’t die.

Amy Winehouse Brings The Beehive Back

Not necessarily a good thing
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

A somewhat more put together looking Amy Winehouse was spotted on the streets of London, England this week looking a fright better than she did the last time we saw her here on the blog. And look! She’s decided to bring her trademark beehive back:

Tho her new/old ‘do makes her look more like a cracked out Tammy Wynette (circa 1958) rather than the Amy Winehouse we’re most familiar with. I kinda hate it. What do y’all think?

Amy Winehouse Courts The Favor Of Her Followers

Ex-jailbird hubby now free to roam the streets
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

OH man … trainwreck Amy Winehouse is at it again. After taking a few months off from all the crazy, Amy has recently reemerged to resume her wacky ways … right in time with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s release from jail to rehab. Bright and early yesterday morning, Amy came out of her London home with gifts of cheese on toast and bottled drinks for the assembled paparazzi outside her door in order to trade them for use of a cell phone. Why an artist who is capable of making millions of dollars on her singing talents does not have a phone of her own is beyond me but there you have it. After the photogs allowed her to use their phone to call a friend, Amy allowed them to photograph her at will, showing off a rash that she developed on her arms after being released from the hospital (you will note she is still wearing her plastic hospital bracelet). Oh and she brought the paps flowers as well:

Seriously, the girl is tragic. Her husband, on the other hand, appears to be taking his sobriety seriously … after all, he has commit himself to a rehab program in order to get out of jail early (he was sentenced to almost a year in jail for attempting to pervert justice in the UK). It looks like rehab was a good choice for him because clearly he is not being confined to his rehab facility … apparently, he is allowed to walk free and clear as if he weren’t in custody at all. Here is a pic of Blake roaming the streets of Old Woking, Surrey yesterday:

Let this be a lesson to all y’all … if you ever get locked up in jail and you are offered the chance to serve out your sentence in rehab, you should do it. Doesn’t it look like fun? In any event, Blake is basically free and so is Amy

Heaven help us all! Should we be scared?

Blake Fielder-Civil Tries To Clean Up His Act

Allegedly
Friday, November 7th, 2008

Yesterday we learned that Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil was released a month early from his conviction for attempting to pervert justice in the UK. Blake was allowed early release from incarceration on the grounds that he immediately enter into a rehab program. Amy, who has been in and out of hospitals in the past few weeks, was not on hand for her husband’s release because she had her own tragedy to deal with. Here are pics of Blake waving to the media from his new rehab home and of Amy venturing out on the streets of London with her father Mitch Winehouse to chaperone:

While I am still skeptical that early release from jail in order to serve out the final month of a criminal sentence in rehab is really the right way to go about things, I am encouraged that Blake seems willing to get help. Of course, the decision to “get help” in a cushy rehab facility over renaming in a jail cell prolly made more to do about comfort rather than a genuine desire to “get help”, I’m willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Now, if only Blake’s bride Amy would join him in this rehab facility so that they can “get help” together. Amy Winehouse is a poor shadow of the immense talent that she possesses and it is very sad to see her wither in front of our eyes. While it’s great to see that her father is involved in her life, I think she needs something stronger than parental supervision to get her act together.

Mr. Amy Winehouse Gets Out Of Jail, Goes Straight To Rehab

Amy Winehouse, herself, is still on the loose
Thursday, November 6th, 2008

After spending almost a year behind bars after being convicted of attempting to pervert justice in the UK, Amy Winehouse’s hubby Blake Fielder-Civil has been released from incarceration one month early on the condition that he spend a month in a rehab program. Amy, who has been going in and out of the hospital in the past few weeks, is currently out of the hospital and has been seen terrorizing the streets of London with a black make-up tear-stained face, lashing out at anyone who gets near her — oh, it must be Thursday:

Amy Winehouse’s husband was released from jail yesterday after almost a year behind bars for his part in a vicious assault on a pub landlord. Blake Fielder-Civil left Edmonds Hill prison in Suffolk at 8am looking pale and with his arms covered in red scars. The 26-year-old, who has fought a long battle with drug addiction, was not due to be released until next month but was freed after agreeing to attend rehab. Miss Winehouse herself was not there to meet him, leading to rumours of a rift between the pair. Winehouse, who left hospital on Monday after receiving ongoing treatment for a ‘chest infection’, looked far from jubilant as she emerged from the residence at 4pm this afternoon with make-up smeared across her face. She appeared to be in an agitated state, lunging at a photographer stationed outside her home shouting: “Who’s first? Who wants some?”. She refused to comment on her husband’s release. After attending a drugs and alcohol clinic Winehouse was pictured clutching a prescription and falling into a cab as she returned home, her face streaked with dirt and tears. A couple of hours later her father Mitch turned up at her flat and not long after a pizza delivery arrived. After they had eaten no-nonsense Mitch shepherded his subdued daughter to his cab. The singer appeared to have showered and to have changed her clothes after her father’s arrival. However, she was back to her erratic ways later in the evening, sucking on a male friend’s knuckle before later passing out in the back of a cab. Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in prison in July after assaulting barman James King, 36, outside a pub in East London and plotting to bribe him with £200,000 not to testify. He had already spent nine months in custody after his arrest in November last year. After leaving the prison, Fielder-Civil said: “Now all I want to do is see Amy. It’s tough inside - bloody horrible, but I’m out and that’s all that matters. It’s brilliant.” He added: “It’s welcome to the free world for me and Barack Obama.”

It remains to be seen if Blake has fully rehabilitated his criminal ways but a stint in rehab sounds like a cushy way to finish out one’s jail sentence. Amy, on the other hand, seriously needs to be locked away somewhere … seriously:

Whether or not there is a future for these two also remains to be seen. We’ll have to wait and see what happens after Blake gets released from rehab … you know, if Amy lives that long.

Amy Winehouse Freaks Out In Public In London

Long time no see, crazy
Friday, September 26th, 2008

You know, I was just thinking that it’s been ages since we’ve heard from Amy Winehouse or happened upon any of her crazy antics and I mused that perhaps she was off getting her life back in order. After all, it had been weeks since we last saw the trainwreck on the loose on the streets of London. Almost as if the manic loon could hear my thoughts, she comes out of seclusion to perform at the End of Summer Ball in London’s Berkeley Square last night and reminds us just how tragic the poor woman still is. After her abysmal performance at the Ball, Amy freaked out and kinda went nuts on the streets of London which, sadly, is a sight that we are all too familiar seeing:

It was a high society ball attended by a host of VIPs in their most glamorous gowns. But somehow Amy Winehouse didn’t get the dress code quite right. Wearing scruffy animal print shorts, the troubled star looked shockingly skinny and ill as she performed at the End of Summer Ball in London’s Berkeley Square last night. With her gaunt physique, unkempt hair, smudged makeup and scratches on her legs the singer looked more unwell than ever. The 25-year-old admitted she was on the verge of a breakdown after a night of worryingly shambolic behaviour — even by her standards. The troubled star embarrassed herself by ruining her 12-year-old goddaughter’s debut singing performance and lashing out at a photographer before collapsing and sobbing: “Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.” The singer was at the Berkeley Square Ball in Mayfair to provide backing vocals for her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield. But onlookers were shocked at how out of it Amy was, and the audience at the charity bash cringed as she grabbed and hugged Dionne as she tried to perform. The pair were joined on stage by a live band and one of Amy’s backing singers for the three-song set. We’re told: “It was tragic — she seemed totally wasted. She was jumping all over Dionne as the poor girl tried to sing for the crowd. Amy didn’t really sing a single note — it sounded more like she was grunting down the mic.” At the end of the performance, Amy’s backing singer told the crowd: “Isn’t she great? She’s only 12-years-old!” But Amy crowed: “She’s better than you — it doesn’t matter how old she is.” She then roamed from table to table, demanding to meet famous people … Our spy said: “Amy was then asked to pose for the event’s official photographer, but flipped and tried to headbutt him. She looked like a woman possessed.” But backstage things took a turn for the worse. Our spy adds: “Amy collapsed backstage in tears. She kept saying, ‘Life can’t go on, I can’t do this’.” It was a sorry return to the public eye for Amy, who has kept a low profile recently. She arrived at her Camden home at the end of the night with only one shoe and looking horribly disheveled.

Seriously, I wanna know … what the hell happened to her shoe? How does one lose a shoe and not even know it? I also wanna know how long a person can live like this before something horribly tragic happens … I mean, it can’t get much more tragic … she really does look like a dying woman. You know, at her worst, Britney Spears acted very similarly and she is now successfully working her way back to a happy, healthy future. Amy can do it too but she has to have to want to turn her life around. Nothing that I’ve seen has given any indication that she wants to get better. Sadly, I’m afraid the time will eventually come when it’ll be too late to save herself. Sad.
