Jennifer Aniston Does ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’

Jen helps Dave tie one on
Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Jennifer Aniston was one of the guests on The Late Show with David Letterman last night and was on hand to do some promo work for her new movie Marley & Me which opens in theaters here in the US on December 25. Jen, the ever-so-kind guest, thought it would be a nice thing to bring Dave an early Xmas gift … and presented him with the red, white and blue-striped Brooks Brothers tie that she wore for the coverphoto of the new issue of GQ magazine. In return, Letterman grilled Aniston on pretty much everything he could think of including her relationship with John Mayer:

She has just bared almost every inch of her body on the cover of a men’s magazine. But if David Letterman was hoping to catch Jennifer Aniston in an equally revealing mood, he was sadly mistaken. The former Friends actress appeared as a guest on the US star’s late night chat show to promote her new film Marley and Me on Wednesday night. However, it was not long before the topic quite naturally turned to the star’s love life. And it was at that moment that things turned a little awkward between the pair. Dressed in a pink mini jumper-dress which only just managed to skim the tops of her thighs, Aniston inexplicably came over all coy as the host fired off a series of questions about her guitarist boyfriend John Mayer. The actress quickly replied: “I think it’s all been said at this point.” But Letterman dutifully plugged away, asking why she thought people were interested in her personal life. “I don’t know. Just ask yourself why you asked the question,” Aniston shot back. The 39-year-old eventually told him that they met at a Hollywood party, but was clearly uncomfortable as the host kept asking more questions. She attempted to end the conversation by giving short answers and laughing off Letterman’s remarks. Finally, he admitted defeat as Aniston continued to clam up. “I’m an idiot,” he said. “I can’t even go any further with this.” But the awkwardness was not over. The host then ogled pictures of the naked actress writhing with male models in her recent GQ shoot. The actress, who has appeared naked in several magazines over the years including another cover-shoot for GQ in 2005, shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She again looked far from impressed as the pictures were held up to the audience. “Oh Dave what else are you gonna pull out of that basket?” she said as she desperately tried to deflect attention away from the pictures, the most famous of which features her posing provocatively in a striped necktie. “You’ve got some explaining to do here,” he said. Again trying to change the subject, Aniston reached behind her chair to get “an early Christmas present”, producing the same tie that she wore for the shoot. Letterman immediately ripped off his own tie and as his band played strippers’ music, put on Aniston’s gift. “Oh this is exciting - I’m dressing Dave!” Aniston said as she helped him. “This is an historic moment in my career. That was fantastic!”

Okay … so technically, Dave grilled Jen before she gave him that fabulous gift but, I must say, she handled herself like a champ. I suppose I don’t understand why a celebrity would choose to clam up about personal questions when they appear on national television even if they are there to talk about non-personal things. I mean, seriously … but, then again, when you’re as big a star as Jennifer Aniston is you can really get away with stonewalling as much as you want. Personally, I think it was damn cool of Jen to give Dave that now-infamous Brooks Brothers tie (tho, I suspect it wasn’t the actual tie she wore for the shoot). Incidentally, if YOU would like to buy this tie for yourself or for someone you love, you can order it online from the company directly HERE. It’s on sale from $150 to $112.50 — what a bargain! After the jump and for those of you who missed watching it on TV, check out Jen’s full interview with David Letterman last night … (more…)

Ryan Lochte Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

A star is born
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Earlier today we got to see a fun photospread in the new issue of GQ magazine that featured Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley modeling the essential must-haves for guys lookin’ to rep American Style this season. Olympic Gold-Medalist and all around hottie Ryan Lochte is also featured in the new issue of GQ in his own fashion spread of classic American SoCal Style clothing … behold:

Nothing’s more genuinely American than the beach-inspired style of Southern California. And this season, nothing’s more affordable. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte throws on some threads (for a change).

Um, yes please! I am ALL for more Ryan Lochte appearing in magazines and various photospreads. I’m very pleased to know that he has signed on with PMK pr firm and will be appearing in underwear ads for Calvin Klein. Methinks that 2009 is going to be Ryan Lochte’s year. I can’t wait to see what’s in store … and how little he’ll be wearing to show off ;) Soooo … which do y’all prefer — these pics or Penn’s?

Penn Badgley Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

Fashion plate
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Penn Badgley, of Gossip Girl fame, is featured in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine (the one with the very nekkid, very hawt Jennifer Aniston on the cover) posing in various American style fashions. Here are a few pics from his new GQ photospread:

It’s not just our dashing, thoroughly modern President-elect drawing the world’s attention — it’s our clothes, too. As the next twenty-six pages demonstrate, classic American Style has reinvigorated the world of fashion. And it all starts with actor Penn Badgley and these essential pieces for you to short-list this spring.

I am so happy that Penn is getting his own face time in a major magazine like this. No other Gossip guys are included in this GQ feature and Penn is highlighted in the most photos. Other models in this 26-page spread include actor Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, W.) and Olympian Ryan Lochte (whose photos are so hawt, I’ll have to post them all by themselves a little later on). After the jump, check out another set of photos of Penn Badgley modeling the essential must-wears for dudes this season … (more…)

More Photos Of Jennifer Aniston In ‘GQ’ Magazine

The whole shebang
Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Earlier today we got to see the stunning photograph of a very nekkid Jennifer Aniston on the cover of the new issue of GQ magazine. As a result, GQ.com updated their site with the full photoset from Jen’s (empowering?) GQ spead and her coverstory interview in full. Here are a few of photos of Jennifer (wearing a bit more clothing) as well as more portions of her GQ coverstory:

It’s a sunny afternoon in late October, and Jennifer Aniston and I are having lunch inside the bright, modern Beverly Hills home she uses as an office, talking about the 24/7 unscripted drama—call it The Jen Show—whose mobile production unit is parked right out front. Arriving for our meeting, I’d watched three paparazzi SUVs speed by, rip some Grand Theft Auto–style doughnuts in the street, and station their vehicles facing downhill, positioned for pursuit. There seem to be about a half-dozen paps outside—a slow day on the set. Last week’s episode, “The One Where Jen and John Mayer Get Back Together,” drew twenty men who trailed her constantly, jockeying for those exclusive photos of the couple that have fetched as much as $20,000. Today’s crew are just staffers, guys who stalk Aniston full-time for photo agencies like X17. “Yesterday I pulled up to one truck and rolled down my window,” she says, leaning in. “I go, ‘Let me just ask, this is every day? Every day now? Is there a way we could make this a little bit saner?’ It’s just not human to walk around with twenty cars following you—there’s no ease. Maybe they do want you to get all Mariah Carey on yourself and be put into an institution. I miss the days when they hid in the bushes.” There’s an edge to the way Aniston jokes about the public’s obsession with her life, especially when she describes the ill will she harbors for the anonymous parasites who chronicle the burgers she eats, the gas she pumps, the trash she takes out. At one point, I mention that one of the guys out front has a ladder in the back of his 4Runner. “That’s illegal!” she snaps. The ladder, if used to peep over her towering hedges, would violate California privacy law. “I hope he hits something.” She pauses, realizing how that sounds. “It’s terrible when you wish horrible things on other human beings.” Listening to Jen tear into the tabloid circus is entertaining stuff, and for a moment I marvel at just how lucky I am to be inside the iron gate, eating a delicious, Asian-influenced chicken-and-fried-cheese dish with one of the world’s most sought-after women, a woman who has barely talked to the press in two years…until, that is, I remember that I’ve come to Aniston’s office in large part to ask precisely the same sorts of questions—Is this thing with Mayer really going to last? Are you truly over the divorce? Don’t you just fucking hate Angelina?—that the scrum of photographers out front seek to answer with their cameras. Huh. I guess we could talk about Halloween or some shit. But isn’t the tabloid stuff all anyone really wants to know?

Yeah, I don’t know if agreeing to pose for photoshoots like this is going to do much to get people to NOT want to photograph her when she’s out in public but I suppose the woman has got to live her life as she sees fit. I’m always so amazed that celebrities have no problem courting fame in this manner (and really, what other reason does one pose for scantily clad photos like this if not for the attention of others) and, in the very next breath, complain that they are hounded far too much by the media. It makes NO SENSE to me. But again, that’s the game these people play. It seems like this “no means yes” mentality towards fame and fortune is diametrically opposed to the peace, quiet and privacy these celebs claim to want from the public. I mean, really. After the jump, check out one more photo of Jennifer Aniston from her racy GQ photospread — she’s back to wearing nothing but a strategically placed men’s necktie so, I think it’s worth a look … (more…)

Jennifer Aniston Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

Leaves her clothing behind
Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Jennifer Aniston is featured on the cover of the new issue of GQ magazine and, what’s this?, the lass opted out of wearing any clothing on this new magazine cover. Well, that’s not entirely true … she did wear a men’s tie — but that’s it. Here is Jen’s hot new GQ coverphoto and some portions of her coverstory interview with the mag:

Talk about your revealing interviews. Jennifer Aniston puts on a necktie and leaves the rest in the hamper for a provocative GQ cover and sassy interview that addresses rumors about John Mayer. “I am not having his baby. And I have not popped the question,” the actress, 39, tells January’s GQ (on stands Dec. 23). Aniston also pokes fun at her recent swipe at Angelina Jolie. “The funny thing is, people don’t realize we all go away to The Hamptons on the weekends,” jokes Aniston. “That’d be hysterical: I’ve got Zahara on my hip, and Knox …” As for her feelings about Mayer, 31, she says, “Honestly, did not know much about him before I met him. I’d heard … you know, uh ‘Your Body’ – that song. But what I can say is that I had no idea what an extraordinary musician he is. And it’s just great to sit and be witness to that. It’s kind of like, Whoa!” Aniston’s currently working on a film called Pumas, which she calls “sort of a female Wedding Crashers” about two “aspiring cougars.” “It is so a comment on the sexual double standard, and what’s been ironic is how hard it’s been to get this movie made,” she says. “Studios want it, but they are afraid of Middle America. They’d want to change it; they’re saying, ‘Oh, you can’t do that, people just can’t imagine you …” It’s part of what she sees as a disturbing problem in Hollywood. “Look, I think all women on some level just want to rage against the machine,” she says. “There are too many movies out there that don’t empower women, movies in which their only way of being happy is finding a man. And you know, that’s not my favorite theme.”

Yeah, no question … Jen looks effing’ amazing on this cover. Now, how much of her perfection is due to digital manipulation remains to be seen but this is deffo her hottest magazine cover ever. You also gotta love her cheeky remarks about hanging out with the Brangelina brood … but, one thing’s for sure, I don’t think that little Princess Zahara would be cool with hanging out on Jennifer Aniston’s hip — no way! I love that she’s being especially candid about John Mayer in these new interviews … for a woman who guards her privacy so much, it’s refreshing to hear her open up some on a personal level. But, when she talks about lamenting that there aren’t many films in Hollywood that empower women in a men’s magazine where she appears on the cover 99% nekkid seems a bit counterproductive. Personally, I don’t necessarily equate empowerment with nudity … especially on the cover mens’ magazines … but that’s just me. I can’t hate her for this cover tho … she looks amazing. If this is her idea of empowerment, then so be it. IMHO, I think a woman in a nice pantsuit (mebbe taking an oath of office) seems more empowering to me.

Michael Phelps Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

And how!
Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

14-time Olympic Gold Medal-champ Michael Phelps is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine which celebrates the Men of the Year. Along with a few other Men of 2008, Phelpsie graces one of four covers of this issue which is out on newsstands now. Here is his coverphoto and a couple extra photos of the athlete from inside the mag:

Say what you will about the lad from the neck up but he has got a bangin’ ass body like nobody’s biz. MMM. Undoubtedly chosen for his stellar performance at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China (where he won 8 Gold Medal) this past August, I think Phelps makes a great choice as one of the Top Men of 2008. After the jump, check out a few more pics from this issue that highlights some of the other men who made GQ’s list this year … (more…)
