Kevin Federline Does ‘People’ Magazine

AKA 'Kevin: For The Record'
Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Kevin Federline, with his two young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, is featured on the cover of this week’s issue of People magazine wherein the former dancer/rapper/husband “breaks his silence” in order to tell “his side of the story” in response to the press that ex-wife Britney Spears has been getting lately. On the one hand, I think it was very gentlemanly for K-Fed to hold off on telling “his side of the story” until Britney was ready to talk to the press about her life but on the other hand, I can’t help but feel that this People magazine coverstory is a gentle reminder that he is out there and that we should be aware of that fact. Here is this week’s cover of People magazine with K-Fed and boys and a portion from the coverstory interview:

Kevin Federline has been called many things in the nearly five years since Britney Spears walked into his life: boy toy, gold-digger, wannabe rapper, partier. These days he answers to one name: Daddy. Since splitting with Spears in 2006 – and then watching in fear as she went through her very public breakdown – the former backup dancer, 30, has channeled all of his energy into their sons Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2. Now that Spears, 27, is getting her life back on track, they’re sharing parenting duties again – and Federline is ready to tell his side of the story exclusively to PEOPLE.

Do you remember when you first met Britney?
I met her at a club in Hollywood, Joseph’s. Our eyes met and that was it. We just hit it off right away. I learned real fast how much of a whirlwind the press and everything was.

What are your happiest memories of the marriage?
Well, getting married. I never thought that I would get married but it wound up happening. That was a really, really, happy, exciting moment. I pretty much realized that I was giving my life to her, and I was doing it without question.

What went wrong?
It’s hard enough to be in a marriage, and then have a kid, then kids, it changes everything. For me, I’d become more concerned with my children. Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important … I mean, we were having complications. I didn’t give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn’t even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided.

A lot of people assumed you fought for custody of the kids because of money.
My first question to [my lawyer] was, “Am I ever going to be able to see my children?” I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That’s all that mattered. I didn’t know how much power Britney had. That really scared me.

How did you react in January when Britney locked herself in the bathroom with Jayden and was later taken to the hospital on a gurney?
That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her ’cause I care about her. That’s the mother of my children. Just because I’m not in love with her doesn’t mean that I don’t love her. I’m definitely rooting for her. There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.

Are things getting better?
Oh, man, it’s totally turning around. It works out that [the kids] get to see her. There’s structure over there, there’s structure at my house. We’re trying to keep the same type of schedule. It doesn’t have to be completely perfect, but the foundation is there.

Again, I still contend that K-Fed really stepped up and was there for his children, Sean P and Jayden James, when they needed him most and I have no doubt that he is an amazing father to those boys. BUT, it should be noted that K-Fed has two older children with his first babymama Shar Jackson and, when talking about how devoted a father he is, we don’t usually hear about those kids. K-Fed’s first child Kori (who is now 6) was already a toddler when Shar got pregs with their second child Kaleb (who is now 4) … which was around the time that K-Fed left them to be with Britney. It strikes me as odd that Kevin would want to be portrayed as such a doting father but chooses to exclude his other children from this touching piece. I will say this for the man, he really seems to have grown up and matured a lot. Just like Britney has made great strides in taking control of her life, so has Kevin. For me, tho, this notion of K-Fed being a savior father would ring with more validity if he included his eldest children — the ones not born of a superfamous popstar — in the tale.

Hugh Jackman Named The ‘Sexiest Man Alive’

By the fine folks at 'People' magazine
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

People magazine has released it’s annual pick for Sexiest Man Alive and they have chosen Aussie hunk Hugh Jackman as the sexiest … and I must concur. Each year, People magazine gathers a list of hawt male celebs for their time-honored Sexiest list (which is usually a very nice list) but some years bestows the honor of Sexiest Man Alive on a clichéd pick (Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Brad Pitt again, etc.). This year, I think People magazine absolutely made the right choice in picking Hugh Jackman:

He’s a triple threat: a star who can sing, dance and wield a weapon. At 6 ft. 2 in., all scruff and biceps, Hugh Jackman looms large in the epic Australia, which he says kept him “dirty 95 percent of the time” and left people stammering, “Oh … my … God,” according to costar Nicole Kidman, who adds, “Women’s jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room.” Jackman’s wife of 12 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, calls his perfect form “the Body of Doom – but I like what’s inside”: a romantic who sings ballads at home and makes pancakes for Oscar, 8, and Ava, 3. A hard body with a soft center.

In his interview with People magazine, Hugh confessed that he used to be self-conscious about his “chicken legs” and reveals that “lately” he is most proud of his smile and his pecs. OMG. I SO concur ;) “Sexy” is the perfect way to describe Hugh Jackman. As y’all know, I happily feature Hugh as much as I can (as recently as Monday) because the man is basically sex on legs. Of all the Sexiest men who made the list this year, I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the top spot. But, there are other Sexy men on the list. After the jump, check out some of the other dudes who made the list this year — you’ll find that almost all of them are guys who have been heavily featured right here on the blog … (more…)

Evan Rachel Wood Denies Break-Up With Marilyn Manson

Reveals that the couple is just taking "some time apart"
Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Yesterday we got word that the fairytale romance between Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood was over after a reported tiff over ERW’s brother … but today, we learn from Evan herself that the reports of her dunzoness with MM are false. While she does not go so far as to say that she and Marilyn Manson are actually together (she reveals that the couple decided to “take some time apart” for creative reasons) she does completely refute the report that the couple broke-up over an incident involving her brother:

Evan Rachel Wood is sick of the false reports circulating about why she and Marilyn Manson broke up. “Manson and I both decided to take some time apart so we could concentrate on work. Someone used that opportunity to kick us while we were down and sell a completely false story,” the actress, 21, explains in a statement exclusively to PEOPLE. Stories of the couple splitting in a bitter fight over Wood’s brother Ira, who had been living with the pair, getting kicked out of the guest house by Manson, 39, started popping up this week. “Manson owns the house he lives in. My brother has never stayed there and the person that said such horrible things about Manson being ‘controlling’ and ‘emotionally abusive’ is certainly no source ‘close’ to me,” Woods says. “Manson has been by my side and taken care of me through the best and worst times. I love him as a person and as an artist. I will always be proud to have been a part of that. “If any more attacks are made on us, it is the act of a desperate, selfish person, who is angry to no longer be a part of my life. No further comment will be made and we request our privacy at this time.”

Yikes! Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. There is an obvs bitter tone to her refutation of the break-up reports which seems, to me, to allude to something more. As I said, she does not fully express that the couple are still together. Of course, I have no way of knowing but it kinda feels like the couple are on a “break” that she is not very happy about. Because I have no way of knowing and I’m only making the conjecture based on the inference from this statement, I could be completely wrong. But, it does feel like there is something going on here … mebbe MM is no longer interested in her? In any event, ERW doesn’t sound very happy … for whatever reason … and that’s a bit sad.

Clay Aiken Opens Up, Comes Out To ‘People’ Magazine

The Interview
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

People magazine has finally updated its official website with their exclusive Clay Aiken coming out interview (after news of this development spread like wildfire on the InterWeb late yesterday). Here are portions of Clay’s monumental interview with the mag, the full interview can be read in this week’s issue of People which is due to hit newsstands today:

Following the Aug. 8 birth of his son Parker, singer Clay Aiken is following through on a promise he made to himself as a new dad: to publicly acknowledge that he’s gay. “It was the first decision I made as a father,” Aiken, 29, tells the upcoming issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. “I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn’t raised that way, and I’m not going to raise a child to do that.” Aiken says he expects the news may overwhelm some of his fans. “Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply being a homosexual, it’s going to be a lot,” said Aiken, who returned to Broadway last week as Sir Robin in Monty Python’s Spamalot. He adds that he hopes his fans “know that I’ve never intended to lie to anybody at all. … But if they leave, I don’t want them to leave hating me.” The born-again Christian singer also reveals how he told his mother Faye he’s gay four years ago. After dropping off his younger brother Brett, who was being deployed to Iraq, at Camp Lejeune, “I started crying in the car,” Aiken remembers. “It was dark. I was sitting there, thinking to myself. I don’t know why I started thinking about it … I just started bawling. She made me pull over the car and it just came out.” So what was his mom’s reaction? “She started crying. She was obviously somewhat stunned. But she was very supportive and very comforting.” Even now, Aiken admits, “She still struggles with things quite a bit, but she’s come a long way.” As for his own child, Aiken tells PEOPLE that Parker – who was conceived via in vitro fertilization with his best friend, music producer Jaymes Foster – will be raised in an environment that is “accepting and allowing him to be happy.” Says Aiken: “I have no idea if he’ll be gay or straight. It’s not something I’ll have anything to do with, or that he’ll have anything to do with. It’s already probably up inside the code there … No matter what the situation you’re in, if you’re raised in a loving environment, that’s the most important thing.”

People magazine will publish the full text of Clay’s interview as well as the first photos of his newborn son Parker Foster Aiken in their new issue on newsstands today. Again, I must commend the man for stepping up and acknowledging his homosexuality to the world. It is not an easy thing for anyone, professionally this may hurt him, but I think he will be able to live a more happy and fulfilled life now that he is being honest, not only with himself, but with the world at large. Well done Clay … as I mentioned previously, I think his son will be a much better person now that his father is being totally honest about who he is :)

Clay Aiken Comes Out Of The Closet

Admits his sexuality & debuts his son on the cover of 'People' magazine
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

In news that is prolly surprising only to his most loyal Claymate fans, Clay Aiken has decided to come out of the closet and admit his homosexuality on the cover of the new issue of People magazine. Under the headline, Yes, I’m Gay (which is the same headline that Ellen DeGeneres and Lance Bass used when they came out of the closet on the cover of People), Clay also gives the world the first really good look of his newborn son Parker Foster Aiken who was born via surrogate mother (best friend and producer Jaymes Foster) on 08.08.08. Here is Clay and Parker’s new People magazine cover:

People magazine has yet to update its own site with this breaking news but the Huffington Post is all over it:

People hits newsstands on New York and LA on Wednesday, and there new cover is a doozy. American Idol alum Clay Aiken and newborn son Parker pose for their first photos AND Aiken officially comes out. Parker Foster Aiken was born on August 8 in North Carolina to Aiken’s good friend Jaymes Foster, 50. The pair met when Aiken was a contestant on American Idol. He was in “Spamalot” on Broadway earlier this year and is returning now. Aiken has long remained silent about his sexuality. While he has legions of female fans called Claymates, but has also been referred to for years as Gayken by Kathy Griffin and has been allegedly solicited gay sex online.

Even tho I am not a Clay Aiken fan (in the least, I don’t like an thing that he does actually) I must commend him for taking this step into brave new territory for him and his family. This People magazine cover quotes him as saying “I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things” and I have to admit that he gets major props from me for coming to that conclusion. Parker can only benefit from his father’s honesty … I wish them well on their life’s journey together. So … thoughts?
