The Hills stars and newlyweds (?) Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt spent part of their day yesterday doing a bit of Xmas shopping on one of the most paparazzi-friendly streets in SoCal — Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA. I sure hope they weren’t lookin’ to do some private shopping out of the public eye because … well … look at that, the couple got papped while trying to shop. Oh darn it. Well, at least Speidi were good sports about all the cameras trained directly on them … here are a few pics of the happilyweds (we assume) on their shopping excursion yesterday:

You gotta admit, these two really know how to have fun with their celebrity. They may be cheeseballs of the HIGHEST degree but at least they’re having fun with their notoriety. I don’t understand how they can pose for some of these photos with straight faces but … folks, they’re pros. Happy Holidays from Speidi to YOU!

US Weekly has our first look at the upcoming cameo that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, collectively known as Speidi, will be making on an episode of the hit CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. The ep, slated to air on January 12, will feature Speidi on the cover of a fictional weekly tabloid magazine called Them before they actually come to life on the show. Usmagazine.com has your first look at newlyweds Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. In the episode (airing Jan. 12), the two appear on the cover of a magazine — titled Them Weekly — and eventually come to life. They tease Marshall (Jason Segel) as he desperately searches for a peaceful place to read the magazine while at the office. Their episode also features newly engaged Kendra Wilkinson and Kim Kardashian. Said Kardashian, “I really had a great time and hope this opens up other opportunities for me in the acting world.”

Um … if this cameo ep leads to “other opportunities” for Kim Kardashian to act then I will call for an immediate removal of this show from the television airwaves — period. But I digress … you gotta love that the coverstory headline on this copy of Them magazine reads “Heidi & Spencer: Hey everybody, we’re on How I Met Your Mother”. Talk about your art blending into reality and vice versa. While I sincerely doubt that these cameos will be as well-received as, say, Britney Spears’s cameo appearances on the show earlier this year were you gotta commend HIMYM for keeping their fingers on the pulse of what’s hot. Like it or not, these reality TV stars are all the rage these days … there’s some bit of genius in interjecting some of their appeal into a traditional sitcom. Celebs of varying types and degrees made their way out to the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, CA last night to attend the 4th annual Road To A Cure Gala. This year, the Board of Governors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center honored TV/radio personality Ryan Seacrest (I’m not sure for what purpose he was honored but he was honored nonetheless) which resulted in last night’s celebratory gala. Newlyweds Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were in the hiz last night for Seacrest’s big night and, lo and behold, they showed up on the red carpet wearing interestingly-looking rings on their wedding fingers … check it out:

You may recall that yesterday we got to see photos of Speidi upon arrival back in SoCal from their Mexican holiday where the couple reportedly got married … in those photos, the happily married were NOT wearing wedding rings. It looks like one of the first things that the couple did after getting home was to rush out and get a pair of almost matching rings … with little charms on them or something. It’s an interesting look, I’ll give them that. Simple platinum bands from Tiffany’s or Zales would’ve been nice, too … but, whatevs. I do love that Spencer had time to rush out and get some rings but did not have the time to squeeze in a haircut ;) In any event, it looks like it’s full-steam ahead for Mr. & Mrs. Speidi. I wonder if it’s too late to send wedding gifts. What sort of gifts would YOU like to send to the newlyweds?

The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who shocked the world last week when it was revealed that they had eloped to Mexico and were married in secret, returned home to SoCal last night … but curiously, the couple who were all smiles at LAX airport were NOT wearing wedding rings:

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. A couple of days after we got word of the nuptials, Spencer Pratt spoke with US Weekly magazine and denied reports that the couple faked their marriage in order to garner more attention. MTV even issued a statement that claimed the Speidi wedding and honeymoon would be featured in the upcoming 5th season of The Hills. Even still … the couple returned home from an impromptu and romantic trip to Mexico where they got married and, yet, they don’t find it necessary to wear wedding rings. Could they really be pulling the wool over our eyes? Is it possible that the couple really aren’t married and are just trying to see if they can fool everyone? OR, are they the type of couple that would opt out of wearing wedding bands? What do y’all think … are they married or not?

Spencer Pratt, newly wedded to long-time girlfriend Heidi Montag in a surprise elopement ceremony in Mexico last Thursday, is going on the record for the first time since the nuptials were announced this week. Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, Spencer laughs off reports that his marriage to Heidi is not legal. Additionally, MTV has announced that portions of the Speidi wedding and their subsequent honeymoon will be featured in an upcoming episode of The Hills. Could this be the shot of new drama that a 5th season of The Hills is in desperate need of to hang onto viewership?

Spencer Pratt is laughing at reports that his recent wedding to Heidi Montag was fake. “We had a beautiful ceremony here at One & Only Palmilla officiated by a minister and photographed by the hotel photographer,” he says in a statement to Usmagazine.com and The Associated Press. “We’ve never been happier.” Pratt and Montag are still in Mexico. Mexico will marry American citizens and perform elopements. Other couples — including Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Jewel and Ty Murray, who recently wed abroad — can legalize their unions before, or in the case of elopements, after a foreign ceremony in the United States. Adds Pratt, “Like other elopements that happen outside the country, we’ll take care of the legal details when we get home.”

This from MTV: After all the moving in and the fallings out, the first proposal and the post-engagement lull, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag eloped last Thursday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Now that they’ve made it official, what will their marriage mean for the show that has chronicled their relationship over the past four seasons? Will the next season of “The Hills” feature footage captured during Speidi’s wedding ceremony? What have Heidi and Spencer been up to since they tied the knot? To find out, we reached out to executive producer Liz Gateley. While she couldn’t tell us everything, she did say that the couple’s married life will figure prominently on the series’ upcoming fifth season, and that cameras are still down in Mexico, documenting the couple’s honeymoon. There’s still no word on when new episodes of “The Hills” will be ready for air, however. “MTV is currently filming Heidi and Spencer in Mexico, as we were expecting to capture them on vacation,” Gateley told MTV News. “Fans will be able to see the exclusive footage from the ceremony in an upcoming episode, and we will continue to follow the newlyweds’ relationship as it plays out in real life.”

It’s unclear just how much of the actual wedding ceremony will be featured on The Hills … I understand that the wedding was a complete surprise to everyone. Either MTV was in on the secret (totally plausible) or Speidi will have to re-enact portions of their wedding ceremony so that it can be filmed by/for MTV (equally plausible) — after all, many of things we see on The Hills are scenes that have been re-enacted or re-shot for airing on TV. Incidentally, why the hell does the Associated Press care about the Speidi wedding … anyone? Anyone?

You know … it’s funny … just as I was complaining that The Hills has started losing its appeal for me (in that I have been considering taking a pass on the upcoming 5th season) they have to go and pull this number. I gotta admit, I kinda have to watch all of this drama unfold on TV … I like, so hafta … right?

In Touch Weekly is reporting today that The Hills villains Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt went and got themselves hitched late last week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and are quoting Spencer’s sister Stephanie Pratt as confirmation. According to the mag, Speidi eloped to Mexico last Thursday to be wed in secret … Stephanie says that she isn’t at all surprised:

The Hills’ Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have tied the knot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! Stephanie Pratt tells In Touch exclusively, “I am not surprised! I knew they would, and Cabo is definitely where they would do it.” But Spencer’s little sister wants the couple to come back and celebrate here in the States. “I hope they come home, though. Spencer always has said he wants to live there.” Heidi, 22, and Spencer, 25, eloped on November 20 on the beach at the One & Only Palmilla resort just outside of Cabo San Lucas. Congratulations to the happy couple!

I must say, while Stephanie claims that she isn’t surprised I deffo am. Nothing about the way that Speidi handle themselves makes me believe that they would marry in secret. I honestly thought they were saving the big day for a huge TV special or something. Maybe any such TV deals never came to fruition, mebbe the couple were just struck by the impulse to get married and figured, What the hell? Stephanie’s comments do not deny that the nuptials took place, I would assume that she’d be in the know … her comments about not being surprised seem like pretty good confirmation to me. I suppose we won’t know for sure until the wedding pics make their way to the Internets (and you know the wedding pics are headed for the Internets). In any event, congrats goes out to the happy couple! May Speidi live long and happy lives together as husband and wife. What do y’all think … is this a match made in heaven? Montag’s mother. “I called her right before the ceremony, sort of hinted that something that happened, but her reaction was to ask me if we were breaking up! I told her it might be something else, and she said, ‘Well, if you ever plan on getting married just know that your stepdad is really upset that you want your father to walk you down the aisle,’” Montag tells Us. “She was starting so much drama, it kind of pushed me toward wanting to get married without that,” she adds. “I don’t know when I’ll tell her.”
