Yesterday was a very popular day at the Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch here in the Los Angeles, CA area as celebs of varying degrees of stature came out to pick up pumpkins with and for their children. Here are a few pics of some of the celebs that made their way out to the pumpkin patch yesterday to do some picking:

The celebs are getting a late start at the pumpkin patch this year. Last Halloween Lindsay Lohan started her pumpkin picking much earlier in the month of October than the celebs this year. Even still, yesterday seemed to be THE day that folks like Tobey Maguire, Marcia Cross, Tori Spelling and Nicole Sullivan decided to snatch up their Halloween pumpkins. See, celebs are just like you and me. Sure, they may have the help do all the messy pumpkin carving for them but they are the ones to do the actual manual labor of picking out the perfect pumpkins for their children. Amazing, isn’t it?

Tobey Maguire was spotted on the streets of LA yesterday wearing a simple white t-shirt with a simple black message emblazoned across his chest — VOTE:

No partisanship, no advocacy for either candidate … the message is plainly VOTE. Click HERE to make sure that the voter registration deadline hasn’t passed in YOUR state if you’ve yet to register to vote. It is imperative that young people educate themselves and cast thoughtful votes in this election. So many people honestly believe that their vote doesn’t matter … but it does! Every vote counts … don’t you want to have a say in who gets elected to lead our country over the next four years? Don’t you want to ensure that other people aren’t making decisions about our country’s leadership for you? The only way to have your voice heard is to FIRST REGISTER and then VOTE. A whole slew of celebs have gotten together to appear in a PSA produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, will.i.am, Tobey Maguire and Forest Whitaker in an effort to encourage the American youth to register to vote by telling them not to vote. The vid is a lengthy 4 minutes long but is deffo worth watching in full:

Woot! Folks here in LA are celebratin’ today that their beloved LA Lakers came back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2008 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics and won Game 5 of the championship series at the Staples Center here in downtown LA last night. After their disappointing performance in Game 4, many naysayers were predicting that Boston would win last night’s game and send the Lakers home empty-handed and they would be taking the championship trophy with them back East to Boston … but the Lakers woke up, played like they’ve been playing all season long and pulled out another win, bringing the series tally to 3-2:

Pack up the championship trophy and book a flight back to Boston, the NBA finals aren’t over yet. The Los Angeles Lakers are headed East to try a historic comeback of their own. Kobe Bryant scored 25 points, including a decisive dunk in the final minute — and Lamar Odom added 20 as the Lakers, playing with pride on their star-studded stage, prevented the Celtics from winning a 17th title with a 103-98 win in Game 5 on Sunday night to close to 3-2 in this restored rivalry. No team has overcome a 3-1 deficit in the finals to win a title. The first 28 failed, and now the Lakers, who blew a 24-point lead and lost Game 4 and nearly squandered a 19-point lead in Game 5, have a chance to do something extraordinary. They’ll have to win on the Celtics’ parquet floor Tuesday night to force a winner-take-all Game 7, where anything is possible … The Lakers needed to hold on to set up a Game 6 on Tuesday night back in Boston. A Celtics victory would give them 17 championships, and the first for their trio of Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
