Vicki B. Does ‘Harpers Bazaar’ Magazine

Also really loves her leather
Monday, December 8th, 2008

Vicki B., who has been spending a bit of time in NYC after her recent quick trip to the UK, is back home in SoCal and is also featured on the cover of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine wherein she talks about (among other things) how she turns into the character of “Victoria Beckham“. HMMM … its’ not quite as ridic as Beyoncé’s Sasha Fierce nonsense but it sorta has the same stink, no? Here is VB’s Bazaar mag cover and a portion of her coverstory interview:

Image is so important to Victoria Beckham that she has it down to a science. As for her lab, “It’s funny,” she tells January’s Harper’s Bazaar, on sale Dec. 16, “I go to the gym now.” Once there, “I run four miles a day,” says the “very disciplined” mom of three boys: Brooklyn, 9; Romeo, 6; and Cruz, 3. Then, “I go into hair and makeup, and I turn into ‘Victoria Beckham.’ ” As for what that entails, “I’ll try on all my dresses, and I’ll pick out a handbag, and I’ll put on the shades. I instantly turn into this person, and it sort of feels like a character. And there are so many pictures of it … But it’s a true character because it’s still me.” Most pictures parade her patented pout – dubbed her “Blue Steel” look – though she admits to lightening up: “I have started smiling … I’ve mastered this smirk; it’s a smile that isn’t a smile.” But what hasn’t disappeared are her trademark high heels, though some have deemed them as impractical. “Oh, c’mon,” she insists, “they’re not that hard to walk in … They’re not uncomfortable! [But] you have to go to a sex shop to get this spray to polish them.” As for how she dresses when the paparazzi are not following her, Beckham, 34, says, “I run around the house in a tracksuit sometimes.” Outside the house – where she likes to take walks with her family – is another matter. “If I go to the supermarket looking like shit, that affects my work. I am selling an image. Plus, I have fun with it,” she says. “I tell you, the paparazzi would not be sitting outside if they realized I was the most boring person in Hollywood.”

LOL! Even tho I give the robotic-looking little sprite a bit of a hard time (all the time), I really do love her. VB is really fab and I don’t always make that very clear. Srsly … the “smile that isn’t a smile”?? Brills! Hahahaha! I love how she talks about going “to the supermarket” as if it were an everyday occurrence. That woman has NO NEED to ever set foot inside of a supermarket, period. After the jump, check out a few photos from VB’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine spread and check out a few pics of her arrival back in LA … (more…)

Vicki B. Braves The Cold In NYC

Brrrrrrrrr
Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Vicki B., newly arrived in NYC after a quick trip to the UK last weekend, appears to be spending a bit more time in the Big Apple than I anticipated. Since David Beckham is off in New Zealand playing soccer and the Beckham children are home in SoCal, I thought that VB would be making her way home to LA to be with her kiddies. Clearly, I was wrong. Here are new pics of VB stepping out into the brisk NY weather yesterday wearing a wrap that was designed to keep her arms and back very warm:

Lord have mercy, woman! With that much exposed chest you’re likely to catch your death! Tho, I’m not sure what I’m really worried about … this model of animatronic robot is designed to withstand the coldest temperatures while managing to look her absolute best. I guess the fur-like wrap that she is wearing is meant to make it seem like she’s concerned about warmth. So funny.

Vicki B. Returns To The US

Fabulosity in full effect
Friday, December 5th, 2008

Vicki B., who jetted off to the UK last Sunday to do some promo work to peddle her high end dresses line there, made her way back to US soil when she arrived at JFK Airport late yesterday afternoon. Altho, Ms. Thang wasn’t lookin’ her absolute best while she was in London, I gotta admit that she was lookin’ pretty damn put together as she stepped off her plane yesterday:

I love the all black, supertight outfit. She kinda looks like a superhero or a cat burglar or something. VB looks her best when she keeps it simple. Sure, she still looks like an animatronic mechanical robot but at least she also looks like a super stylish animatronic mechanical robot. Now that David Beckham has made his way to the other side of the planet to play soccer in New Zealand, it’s time that VB gets home to take care of the kiddies. I bet the’ve missed her and her cold, icy stares/hugs/love.

Les Beckhams Continue To Enjoy New York City

Day 4
Sunday, November 30th, 2008

The Beckham Bunch managed to almost finally break away from those meddlesome hangers-on Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and were able to spend some time alone here in NYC Friday night and all day Saturday. First up, Becks and Vicki B. (who looked like a mutilated chicken in her fug fur coat) stepped out for dinner at Nobu sushi on Friday night …

… I understand Les Beckhams did dine with TomKat at Nobu but the family spent all of Saturday by themselves without any pesky Scientologists tagging along. Here are a few pics of the Beckhams as they made their way out of their hotel to head into the city to partake of various activities:

But, as will all good things, this Beckham family trip had to come to an end. Vicki B., who apparently has pressing matters to attend to in the UK, separated from her family and made her way to JFK airport and flew off to London while her husband and children stayed behind in NYC:

No word on how long the family will remain apart but I’m pretty sure the Beckham boys will be able to find stuff to keep them occupied while the robot is away. My guess is that the Beckham boys will be making their way back to SoCal sometime soon … who knows how long VB will stay in the UK. It looks like Becks really wanted to get in as much quality time with his family while he still can … after all, he is scheduled to temporarily relocate to Italy for the first couple of months of 2009 to play professional soccer there. Looks to me like mission: accomplished.

Les Beckhams Continue Their Onslaught Of NYC

Day 3
Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Les Beckhams — hubby/daddy David & wifey/mother Victoria and sons Brooklyn, Romeo & Cruz — continued to enjoy all the things that NYC has to offer this week as the family ventured out into the city on Day 3 of their Thanksgiving Vacay to the Big Apple. Yesterday, the family did a bit of shopping together (making a special trip to a candy shop) before making their way last night to do a bit of bowling together. Vicki B. managed to spend part of her day with her family but had to leave them midway thru the day to do some investigating (which is why she was wearing her shockingly white private investigator’s ensemble):

Yeah, I don’t really get VB’s getup but the woman does take bold fashion risks with the way she dresses. It’s unclear just how much longer the family is planning to stay in the city (it is also unclear what attractions are left for them to visit) but I must admit that I do like the idea of the Beckham Bunch just aimlessly wandering the streets of New York City. Incidentally, TomKat was along with the Beckhams for many of yesterday’s activities but I’m kinda done looking at them. I don’t think anyone out there will mind that they’ve been omitted, right? ;)

The Beckham-TomKat Bunch Continue To Do NYC

Central Park, A Carriage Ride, A Circus -- Oh My!
Friday, November 28th, 2008

Yesterday we saw pics of Les Beckhams (David and Victoria along with their children Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz) out and about with TomKat (Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their possibly real daughter Suri Holmes-Cruise) at various places around NYC. Today, we get to see more pics of the family friends (including Tom’s adopted children Isabella and Connor with former wife Nicole Kidman) enjoying other parts of the Big Apple in full display of any camera within a 10 mile radius. First up, the families made their way en masse to Central Park:

But soon after they arrived, the ladies in the group decided that they were tired of walking and decided to hop aboard a horse-drawn carriage for a little ride:

Clearly, Vicki B. and her middle child Romeo were not impressed. Incidentally, I do realize that Romeo Beckham isn’t really one of the “ladies” but, lets be honest here, the little lad is the closest thing that VB has to a daughter so there you have it.

After the carriage ride bored them to tears, the families made their way to the Big Apple Circus for a little family fun …

… complete with photo op afterward. Lord … I realize that these people are insanely famous and that they are apt to drawn a massive crowd of onlookers wherever they go but I would’ve expected the families to spend at least part of their day out of the public eye perhaps enjoying one another’s company. In any event, it appears that the Beckham-TomKat Bunch were doing their best to get the most out of this Thanksgiving holiday. While they all look entirely miserable, I do hope that they were able to enjoy their time together and be thankful for the wealth and privilege they are all able to enjoy.
