Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance at the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium (to make an on-field announcement with Sheryl Crow) in the Bronx, NY this past Tuesday night and she showed up missing one important bit of accessory … her trademark mole! US Weekly reports that SJP did, indeed, have her mole surgically removed … here is a pic of SJP from her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards at the Gibson Amphitheater on June 1 with mole and a pic of SJP from the All-Star Game sans mole:

An unairbrushed photo of Sarah Jessica Parker, 43, emerged at the 79th MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium in New York on Tuesday, in which her beauty mark is noticeably missing, the Huffington Post reported Wednesday. “It’s true. She did have it done,” a friend of Parker tells Usmagazine.com. “There was no reason for it, it wasn’t because she didn’t like her mole, and it wasn’t because of any medical reason, it was simply because she was in the mood to have it removed. That’s all.” The Huffington Post pointed out that The New York Observer’s Rex Reed made a cruel remark about Parker’s mole in his harsh review of Sex and the City: The Movie. “There’s nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker, that couldn’t be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it’s so distracting you can’t concentrate on anything else,” Reed wrote. “It’s not a beauty mark. I guess you can’t tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch.”
Interesting. On the one hand, I find it very hard to believe that SJP would go to such measures to remove her mole simply because of negative remarks by some people (tho, it prolly wasn’t really fun being voted the Unsexiest Woman Alive by Maxim magazine). On the other hand, if there was no medical reason for the removal then why would she remove it now, after all these years sticking with the mole. I suppose it really doesn’t matter why she had it removed … it’s gone now, never to be seen again :( I say we pour one out, pause for a moment of silence and send a hearty Peace the Spork Out to the late SJP Mole:

We’ll miss ya dearly … we knew you well. Never has a facial growth made such an impact on our lives like you did. You will be missed.
