The Brodericks Keep Showing Their Unity
Last week Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick were snapped enjoying a date night together about a week after new claims surfaced that the couple were having marriage trubs due Matthew’s alleged infidelity (an allegation made by Star magazine). This week, the couple have relocated to the beachy Hamptons to continue their show of unity:
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick fled to their beach home for some alone time following press allegations the actor had cheated on his wife. The couple and their five-year-old James Wilke escaped to their house in The Hamptons, upstate New York last month following the reports. Far from her fashionable Sex And The City character Carrie, SJP dressed casually for a day on the beach in blue board shorts and a stripy vest, which showed off her golden tan. Meanwhile her husband of 11 years Matthew appeared a tad sunburnt as he covered up in a grey t-shirt and patterned blue shorts. The couple spent the day on the beach playing with their son and Jack Russell terrier in the sand for a traditional family day out. At the end of the day, Sarah Jessica, 43, tied up the numerous buckets and spades left discarded on the sand by their son, as Matthew kept the dog occupied.
Despite the fact that they don’t look all that happy in these pics together, I would venture to guess that things are just fine between the two of them … well, about as fine as they’ve always been. I just hope they really are ok. They have such a cute family, I hate to see Carrie Bradshaw and Ferris Bueller break-up.

The Hamptons are not in upstate NY, they are on the south fork of Long Island, which I am sure you know. Your source has their information incorrect.

In an interview I once read, SJP was talking about how she knew how to keep her husband happy. This was years before they had the kid. She does all the work around the house too, apparently. And she helps him keep track of his schedule and whatnot making sure he has everything when he needs it. She married a baby that needs to be changed and fed. Maybe she likes it like that. She did also say that he was oblivious to all her effort in that dept., but she wanted it that way, if I remember correctly. Some kind of twisted measure of her devotion or something like that. She made a joke about how he didn’t know how good he had it.
I bet he’s a pompous a-hole. I wouldn’t be able to live with him, anyway. He’s not even cute. At least that MF better be good in bed! He’s probably a lazy selfish lover though too, just like the other parts of his life. Sad.

He must find her attractive..he must. I don’t know how he does but he must. Even though she looks like a troll. He must..he must be blind..but still why is she carrying everything..this is a photo-op..couldn’t he carry her? Of course that would mean he’s see her up close and realize he’s living with a troll.

Dude, Christa, I wouldn’t read that much into SJP’s comments. She always talks about how she does everything for her husband and kid - think it’s more a reflection of her personality. She has said she likes being in control of things, making schedules, taking care of people, and nags on her family a lot. Robert Downey talked about how she used to clean him up after a night of his partying and make sure he got to his appts the next day. Or maybe she said that about him. Can’t remember now….

BTW they’ve spent like most of the summer in the Hamptons so I don’t buy the whole retreating to work on their marriage spin the media is putting on it. All either of them talked about in the press pre-allegations was having the summer off to spend with their family in the Hamptons.

1) i think it’s crazy to expect married people to “look happy.” i’m not saying that married people aren’t happy–but i think it’s more true to life to say that married people are going to be much more willing to be unhappy around each other. so, you could say that they don’t look happy–or you could say that it’s actually a good thing. but i don’t know too many married couples that are sunshine and peaches all the time, and that’s probably for the better.
2) considering that the infedility story hasn’t really been substantiated, aren’t we being presumptuous by assuming that he’s been unfaithful or that their marriage is “in trouble”?

Are they supposed to walk around looking delariously happy 24-7 so that people don’t write bad things about them? Come on people - they’ve been married forever! … and SJP is not unhappy - she is squinting from not wearing shades! If she were unhappy she would be at home, not having a day at the beach!!

Looks like the sun’s in their eyes, which would account for not-so-happy-looking faces. According to bystanders, they were playfully hugging and kissing each other.

And Amanda, CARRIE BRADSHAW is a character. She’s not real. SJP is a diff person, get it?
They’re comfortable enough with each other to not get worked up over who carries what. What about that pap vid with Matthew carrying all their luggage from their holidays while SJP dashed into the house? Is that somehow okay because he’s the man? Talk about double standards. Men and women are equal, so why shouldn’t we do the heavy lifting sometimes? Get off your high horses and don’t be afraid of breaking a nail. Yeesh.
