In the wake of the shocking news that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s overhyped nuptials in Mexico back in November are not legal and that the couple failed to legalize their “marriage” upon returning to the US in the weeks following, Speidi are going on the record with In Touch Weekly magazine to discuss their ignorance of marriage law … as well as their solemn vow to really marry one day and broadcast it on television when the happy day arrives:

Spencer Pratt acknowledges that his marriage to Heidi Montag was fake — but only because he was uninformed. “I didn’t even know you have to legalize a wedding,” claims Spencer, who tied the knot with Heidi, 22, in a nonbinding ceremony on November 19 in Mexico. “I thought growing up, you say ‘I do’ and you’re married.” And Heidi agrees. “We had our elopement, and to me, that counts,” she said at Christian Audigier nightclub in Las Vegas on December 31, but she adds that they are now planning to make it official. “We’re going to have a bigger wedding for friends and family.” And it will be a major production. “We’ll definitely have it on TV because of the fans and haters,” vows Spencer.

Well, at least we can look forward to their “bigger wedding” that will be featured “on TV” cuz isn’t that what we all really want to see? Honestly, tho, I don’t know how they can expect to be taken seriously at all … they’ve been talking about this wedding for years and going so far as to fake a wedding for a little publicity only to have it turn out to be a sham of ridiculous proportions will do nothing to fortify any integrity that they have. Speidi are TV characters and should be treated as such … as far as Heidi and Spencer go, well, I’m pretty confident that they’ve got it all planned out perfectly. As long as The Hills continues to carry on, we’ll be hearing from these two by way of various shenanigans and photo ops. The ultimate coup will be if they actually get their own TV show. To be honest, my money says that they will … then those wedding bells will be ringin’ for real.

Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County alum Kristin Cavallari stepped out on the town here in LA last night to get the celebrations underway for her 22nd birthday by takin’ the party to Hyde nightclub in 1980’s jazzercise dancewear last night. Um, is it me or was the theme of KC’s night out inspired by Heidi Montag’s music video for Overdosin’? In case you forgot (or blocked it from your memory), Heidi released a music video over the summer wherein she wore an outfit that looked very much like the one that Kristin wore out last night … might there be a connection? In any event, the pink leotard looks really good on my girl Kristin. She has always been my fave of the Laguna Beach bunch … it’s nice to see her out and about again. Happy Birthday, Kristin!

Proud new papa Jerry O’Connell, who it was reported yesterday became daddy to a set of twin girls named Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip borne of wife Rebecca Romijn on December 28, showed off a new set of footprints yesterday belonging to his newborn daughters as he left the Los Robles medical facility where the babies were born in Oxnard, CA … check it out:

While the news good for the love affair betwixt Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson it is much worse for the celeb couple made up of Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ross McCall … who, according to People magazine, called off their engagement over the holidays and ended their 3+ year relationship. They’re dunzo, y’all:

Jennifer Love Hewitt and her fiancé Ross McCall have called it quits, PEOPLE has learned. “They broke up over the holidays and have ended their engagement,” says a source close to the couple. “They’re both really sad about this. Even their friends are surprised; they seemed really happy. Everyone just wants the best for both of them.” Reps for both Hewitt and McCall had no immediate comment. The Ghost Whisperer star, 29, got engaged to the Scottish actor, 32, in November 2007 after dating for two years.

Aww … this is really sad news — and totally out of nowhere. Not that I really thought about J. Love and Ross very much but I did love them as a couple. They seemed so well matched and made a cute pair, I thought for sure they’d be together forever. Tho, I suppose it is suspicious that the couple remained engaged for so long without ever setting a wedding date. The couple would pop up at various events together (I last saw them together in public at an LA Galaxy game over the summer) but I would most look forward to seeing them show up at the holiday volunteering efforts at the LA Mission around Thanksgiving and Xmas (which they would attend together annually … except for this past Xmas and I guess now we know why). They really were a great couple … I’m sad for them :(

In the span of just a few hours yesterday afternoon rumors began to spread like wildfire that claimed that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson broke off their relationship after suffering an epic fight on New Year’s Eve. Basing their claims on reports that the ladies were seen arguing on NYE in addition to Lindsay sightings in SoCal since NYE NOT in the company of Samantha have fueled these reports (TMZ reports simply, “TMZ has it down solid — Lindsay and Sam Ronson are officially history.”). Lindsay took to her trusty blog on her official My Space page to denounce these claims and insists that L. Ron are still very much together as a couple. And there you have it … to me, it seems like so many of these other sites are chomping at the bit for these two to break-up so they can make a bigger story out of it. I, for one, love that they are together, hope that they continue to stay together and remain happily attached to one another. Let’s face it, the ladies have been joined at the hip for most of last year (only spending very short periods of time apart). It’s only natural that they would fight and argue from time to time. I don’t necessarily consider arguing in public as a sign of dunzoness. I’m happy to hear, straight from the horse’s mouth, that L. Ron are still together, hopefully going strong. Tho, in all honesty, I don’t expect it’ll be very long until the reports of a break-up start to make the rounds again.

The Rehab star cuddled up to an unidentified hunk as she continued to make the most of her holiday on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Wearing a beaded halterneck string bikini with a floral pattern, the 25-year-old showed off her new curvier figure. The pair playfully messed around together before Amy’s male friend proceeded to rub suntan lotion on her back. Last week, the singer was alleged to have had a secret affair with an unidentified man who played Father Christmas at her Caribbean hotel. The singer was reported to be ’smitten’ with the man, known only as Matt. A guest at the hotel in St Lucia, where she has been looking happier and healthier than ever, was quoted as saying: “He seems to be really easy going and funny, which Amy loves. With her clear skin, glossy hair and obvious lust for life, energetic Amy is a world away from her previously bedraggled figure suffering from the excesses of London life.” The playful star appears to have taken on a new sporty persona during the break. In recent days, she has been pictured joining in a game of football with her friends, practicing her handstands and frolicking in the sea. Amy has been enjoying a holiday away from it all with her friends and family on the island.

Uh, this would be the SECOND hot guy that Amy has been spending time with since the weekend (click HERE to see her with the previous, unnamed gentleman). UM … WTF? y’all! How are these hot dudes interested in Amy freaking Winehouse? Man … I say, she ditch the drugs and just hang on to these Caribbean studmuffins. Surely, she’ll live longer and would enjoy a much healthier future. I say, hang on to these hunks, Amy … and never leave the islands. That way, it’d be a win-win situation for everyone concerned.
