Fear Not—You Are Mine – We are Redeemed

“But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.’”

Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)

What a beautiful and deeply personal promise from God. Isaiah 43:1 is like a love letter straight to the heart of anyone who has ever felt scared, lost, unworthy, or forgotten.

God speaks not just as the Creator of the world but as the One who formed you—personally, purposefully, and lovingly. You are not an accident. You are not overlooked. He knows you, He sees you, and He calls you by name.

And then comes the command: “Do not fear.” But God doesn’t say this casually—He gives us powerful reasons why we can live without fear:

  • “I have redeemed you” – He has bought you back, rescued you, paid the price for your freedom.

  • “I have summoned you by name” – You’re not just one of many; you are known individually by the God of the universe.

  • “You are mine.” – You belong to Him. You are His treasure, His child, His beloved.

In a world that constantly tries to define us by our failures, fears, or flaws, God declares: “You are Mine.” That changes everything. No matter what we face—uncertainty, pain, rejection, loss—this truth remains: We belong to a God who loves us deeply, redeems us fully, and never lets us go. He is our creator and understands us completely! He has redeemed us.

Reflection:

  • What fear are you facing right now that you need to lay down before the God who calls you by name?

  • How does knowing you belong to Him give you strength and peace?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for forming me, redeeming me, and calling me by name. When fear creeps in, remind me that I belong to You. Help me to rest in the truth that I am Yours. Not because of what I’ve done, but because of Your great love. I will not fear, for You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
