How to Choose the Right Type of Boots

Knowing what type of boots look best on you will provide you with a wardrobe staple piece that can complement your style and figure. Choosing that perfect type of boot can be difficult. You should consider the frame of your build, height, length of your legs, the shape of your body, and weight. This might seem overwhelming, but it means that you will be choosing the most flattering boots for you.

The main types of boots include ankle, over-the-knee, knee-high, and calf. It’s important to understand your body build and how these different styles will look on you. For example, if you want to look sexier, then adding a heel to a boot can give you the appearance of being taller and leaner.

Petite

If you’re petite, your leg length can make a big impact on how different styles of boots look on you. For longer legs, try an over-the-knee boot to show off. If you are petite with shorter legs, then an ankle boot will visually lengthen your legs.

Muscular

You’ve worked hard for your muscular legs so you should show them off with the best type of boot for you, an ankle boot. An ankle boot with a small heel can highlight the calf muscle while also being very supportive.

Tall

Put on a pair of over-the-knee boots and you can turn your outfit from day-to-night. That’s not the only pair of boots you can wear if you’re tall. You can also wear a knee-high style.

Skinny Legs

For those naturally born with slender legs, you are gifted by being able to wear any style of boot you like. If you want to create more of a curve for your legs, then try a mid-calf length boot. To appear taller, you can wear an over-the-knee boot to add the appearance of length while maintaining sexy curves.

Hourglass

An hourglass shaped woman can try an ankle boot with a cone heel to create a most flattering figure. The boot should come to the ankle, or just right above it. An hourglass figure can also wear knee-high length. However, it should be noted that a mid-calf boot will be the most unflattering because it will create a heavier appearance to the leg.

Top Tips for Choosing the Right Type of Boot

  • Try on multiple styles of boots to see how they can look best on you. There are many lengths of ankle boots, some below the ankle, some above so depending on your height and build you may like on style over the other.
  • Consider your calf size when trying on boots. If your legs or feet swell by the end of the day, you may not enjoy wearing mid-calf boots. Instead, try a knee-high boot that is looser in the calf area of your leg.
  • Remember that there are a lot of options for over-the-knee boots. You may wear flats, a small heel, or a high heel, so you can easily wear this style all day into the night or more for a casual look.

Every woman will want to have a great pair of boots to put on when getting dressed in the morning. What style will work best for you?
