The hemp industry is rapidly growing, and there are now all kinds of hemp-based products such as hemp oil that you can buy and use to treat a certain medical condition or simply enhance your overall health. These products have become rather popular among people, and I’d be surprised to hear that somebody hasn’t heard about them in 2020. In case there still are individuals who don’t know what these are, it’s best that they first learn more about hemp itself.
After the amazing compounds found in this plant have been discovered and people have seen their beneficial effects, it was only a matter of time before animals got involved. It would be unfair not to let our pets enjoy these benefits as well, am I right? Of course, people couldn’t just start giving hemp oil to their little furry companions without first checking if the oil compounds are safe.
Not long after the question of safety has been raised, scientists have decided to conduct researches, studies, and experiments to check whether hemp can be given to our pets. Even though the oil has been found to have many benefits for our felines, nobody wanted to start giving their cats these products before it was proved that they were perfectly safe for animal consumption. Hearing that the oil can help alleviate pain, treat anxiety, and even cure cancer in some instances was nice and all, but the question of safety still remained as the most important one to be answered.
If you have a cat, I believe that you want it to be happy and healthy. When it starts exhibiting certain symptoms and suffering from certain medical conditions, it’s your responsibility to find something that can alleviate those symptoms and help your pet feel better. Of course, it’s also your responsibility to ensure that the products you give them are also safe for the animal.
While I completely understand your suspicions and cautiousness, I would also hate to see you deprive your cat of certain beneficial products just because you don’t know much about them. After extensive research, it was found that the hemp oil found at Pet Hemp Company and similar places is perfectly safe for our animals. Since simply saying that something is safe is not enough, I’ll now explain exactly why it is safe, so we can have this question clearly answered once and for all.
It Isn’t Psychoactive
When you hear the word “hemp” and find out that it is related to cannabis, your first instinct is to start suspecting the products made from this plant. Most people are afraid that hemp oil is psychoactive, simply because cannabis and toxicity have always gone together. I understand where this confusion comes from, but it’s time to put a stop to it.
The hemp plant contains less than 0.3% of THC in itself, which means that you would really have a hard time getting high on it. That’s not all, though. This plant contains many other non-toxic and non-psychoactive compounds, such as CBD, CBN, CBC, and similar. The oil is made from those compounds and not from THC. Simply put, this oil won’t get your cat high, and it won’t harm it in any other way.
Cats Have An Endocannabinoid System
The second reason why hemp oil is perfectly safe for your cats is that felines, just like humans, have an endocannabinoid system in their bodies. This system is exactly why the compounds such as CBD and similar can impact your cat’s health. This animal’s body is full of CBD receptors, and those work together with the oil you administer to help your pet deal with certain medical conditions and restore its perfect health.
NCBI has a great article that will help you to better understand the endocannabinoid system in animals.
No Serious Side Effects Have Been Found By Now
Here’s another important reason you can rest assured that hemp oil is perfectly safe for your felines. As I have already mentioned, this plant and the products made from it have been extensively researched. By now, no serious side effects of the compound have been found, which means that the oil isn’t harmful to your cats or other animals.
